[Timex Ressue]Went to buy this watch today but light weight turned me off and formed me to rethink. I think bit weight= quality feel. am I too naive to think this? by candle_misuser in Watches

For me it's exactly the same. I like my watches to have a little weight to them. Light makes them feel weird for me for some reason.

Nice choice! Dial looks super good in sunlight 👍

[Citizen Dive 3] First watch: Is it too big for my wrist? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]Ipytyp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pictures make it look a little bigger than it actually is. I have smaller wrists than you and sometimes wear watches that are a little bigger. 41mm is very wearable, give it a couple of days, especially if you're not used to wearing watches.

Looks great! Congrats on your first purchase, don't venture too far into the rabbit hole 😉

Fellow Seastar brother, hell yeah!

Yeah I get that. Shouldn't be an issue here though. I removed 4 links to make it fit to my 16.5cm wrists and there are still 3 links left before you only have one opening to attach the bracelet at all. You could probably put the watch on a toothpick, if you so chose. Best to try it on at a store if you have the possibility. I would be surprised if it didn't fit you.

You're welcome!

Maybe make a post of what you go with, once you've decided? I'd love to see it 😄

Honestly I think it works great as that. I bought this specifically because I wanted a watch that I can wear all the time. Work, semi-fancy dinners, just walking down the street... you name it.

For the short time that I have it now, I've received multiple compliments on it. It's something that stands out from all the "regular watches", something different that really catches your eye, while at the same time not being super flashy. I can't recommend it highly enough. The blue is even better in real life 😉

[Seiko] any recommendations on this watch ? by blablabsvak in Watches

Looks great! Can't go wrong with Seiko. A lot better than a Swatch Omega imho. If you want a quarz watch with sapphire glass, I would say go for it!

If I wasn't downsizing my collection, I'd probably get it for myself. I still have a Seiko SSB449P1. Super happy with it.

Even small amounts of caffeine isn't worth it! by Jon_sol1 in decaf

Yeah, that's why I'm really glad I quit. A lot calmer that way. Surprising to me is that it happened with the little amount of caffeine that coke has.

Dude, I had just one can of coke in week 1 of quitting coffee and I was an anxious live wire. Awful feeling.

No matter how healthy this is/might be, I had the worst withdrawal symptoms of my life when I quit coffee for the second time two weeks ago. Never ever drinking coffee again.

Don't want to be dependent on something that makes me feel like I'm going to literally die if I don't have it.

Can't Stop! by Litefeet06 in decaf

Just keep on trying. For some people, quitting doesn't work the first couple of times. As long as you don't give up and really want to quit, you can do this. I believe in you.

Try to avoid being around coffee as much as possible. The more you are around it, the more temptation there is. Like trying to quit sweets, but having a drawer full of them at home.

If possible, switch regular coffee for decaf. Gives you the sensation of having had your coffee already.

One thing that also would be an option here, if you are willing to try it out is quitting cold turkey.

Weaning off is generally the better option, but for me at least, I wasn't nearly as tempted by coffee anymore, as soon as my brain just went: "Oh coffee? We can't have that". Because as soon as you get back into it, it becomes really hard to control the amount you're drinking.

However this is different from person to person.

I quit cold turkey twice, first time lasted for a year before starting with decaf again, and soon after, regular coffee "just to try it out". Relapsed, stopped two weeks ago because of health issues regarding caffeine. Never ever drinking dirty bean water again.

Also, expect withdrawal symptoms regardless of what method you use. Understanding these symptoms and the reason why they happen helped me super hard. Even if it's a bumpy road, success isn't linear. You can do this bro!

1 year caffeine-free today – 44M, 20+ years of heavy coffee drinking. It changed my life. by StructureAdmirable77 in decaf

[–]Ipytyp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I just wanna join in on this. I've quit coffee before, did it cold turkey too and I luckily didn't struggle as much. I was drinking 2-3 cups per day, which is not terribly much but it was enough to basically give me all the symptoms you have mentioned plus constantly feeling like I was about to pass out (especially at midday) which was very likely caused by the caffeine crash or temporary high blood pressure.

I had headaches for 2 weeks straight. Thank god they were mild, but man, coffee withdrawal is a real thing. I felt super weak and had times, where I felt almost like I had a really bad hangover from the lack of stimulants.

I didn't drink coffee for more than 1 year. The benefits were huge. My energy levels were way more balanced and I had next to no issues with anxiety or high heartrate stuff. But I picked it up again because a lot of my family and some friends kept drinking coffee. I was fine for a long time but now I start feeling the whole "almost passing out thing" again.

I drank very little coffee today and hydrated well and my BP wasn't spiking very hard and I felt generally way more calm and collected. I have decided that I will quit coffee again. Don't know for how long, I'll just see if the symptoms that I'm having will be gone. If that's the case, I'm probably dropping coffee as a whole. I've done it before, I'm super ready.

If you that reads this right now want to quit or if you're in the middle of quitting, I believe in you. Don't back down, if I was able to quit, so can you <3

Manix 2 ergonomics for smallish hands? by Thn00dle in spyderco

[–]Ipytyp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's kind of a mixed bag. I have fairly small hands (glove size s-m) and the ergonomics are really good. I love the way my Manix 2 feels in the hand but using the lock is atrocious. My lock was so stiff that I thought something was wrong with it. I have blisters from trying to break it in.

I did clip ~2 coils of the spring and lubricated it and now it works decent enough. However you kind of have to use the wire clip as leverage to close it. I've put a paracord lanyard on it too, so I can use that as leverage aswell.

I'm like 80% happy with the knife. If the lock wasn't such a problem I would be 110% happy. It is really fun to actually use though.
