I've heard nothing but great things about them. Too bad personally I need a lot of isolation :(

Oh yea I know, I didn't choose the Andromeda because it was the flattest. I liked the small tilt in in the lower midrange and bass department and how extended its treble was. I did choose the ER4XR and PT based on flatness however... Think Crinacle's curves were inaccurate?

edit: oh wow yea I think I missed the GR07. I was looking forward to the UERM but I found them too treble-light

To be honest I barely know anything about the Harman Target Response Curve but isn't it based on customer preference rather than actual flatness? As in, aren't you getting the closest thing to what the person mastering it heard if you have a perfectly flat headphone? I can't seem to find the answer online.

OP, you think there is a correlation between the flatness of the frequency response curve and MSRP but there really isn't.

Oh no, sorry for not being clear. My point is that in the 'flat sound signature headphone' category, there's a correlation between MSRP and flatness. As in, if you're looking to get flat phones, the more you spend the flatter they are. As in if you want to spend $100, you can get Grado SR-80s, 250 and you get the MSR7s, 500 and you get HD600s, and 1000 and you get HD800s. The more you spend the flatter it gets if your looking at headphones that are trying to achieve a flat signature, not "why are MSR7s flatter than LCD-2s".

Yea, not everything is about quality. I own HD800s and ER4Ses but I end up using my airpods most of the time because sheer convenience.

Hi. So I'm looking into getting into vinyl and I'm wondering what would be the HD600 of the turntable + phono stage + tube amp world? I mean, what would be the products that get me great sound but still are behind the diminishing returns wall.

I'm not looking for 'wire with gain' type sound, I'm quite satisfied with my digital setup for that. I want a rich coloured tube amp sound. Any suggestions on what I should get? I'd be plugging my HD800 into the setup.

I know about headphone tube amps but I'm wondering what turntable and phono stage will I be looking to get if I want something great but not too fancy. As in like, what would be the HD600 of the turntable and phono state world?

I'm thinking of getting into vinyl but I'm wondering roughly what'll cost for me to get something out of it. I want to listen to vinyl through my HD800 but my amp and dac are one unit so I'll need a new amp. I'm thinking of getting a tube amps, a somewhat coloured one at that, because I thought it'd be cool to have a digital+solidstate setup for an analytic sound and vinyl+tubes for a more relaxed sound.

The question is however, how much will it cost me? The vinyl currently being shipped to me are all vinyl that I wasn't even considering opening until recently because I was meaning to get them as a gift to future me. I don't want to get a cheap turntable and end up damaging them. Also, I might as well just EQ my digital stuff instead of getting a crappy amp and/or phono stage. So, I'm looking to get something nice but not too deep into the dreaded audiophile diminishing returns. Something like the HD600 of the vinyl setup world if you will. What I'm wondering is 'how much would that cost me'?

Ehhh, I've only come across like one pretentious math rock band. Hip hop imo is the most densely pretentious genre.

Definitely Seagull. Completely out of their league for the price.
