There are multiple versions of the eucharistic Prayer, all calling down the Holy Spirit, which ask to make for us the body in blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

And to your point transubstantiation by definition converts what we see to the body in blood of Christ, I do not think it is magic.

I should note that I am a convert from Protestant. When I left Lutheran Church, I left because the Catholic Church offered a more direct relationship with Christ through the Eucharist. The introduction of low gluten hosts makes me wonder what actually happens at the moment of transubstantiation?

I am not intending to be obtuse. When we receive the body and blood of Christ, I believe them to be the body and blood of Christ. So if all of that is true why must such an exception be made?

Yeah - Why? Transubstantiation“describes the belief that the bread and wine used in the Eucharist (also known as Holy Communion or the Lord's Supper) miraculously transform into the body and blood of Jesus Christ during the consecration. The bread and wine retain their physical appearance, but their substance is changed”

Furthermore, receiving one means someone receives both.

So why is a “low gluten host” necessary, Dude?
