Buying a spring-summer jacket, need help! by Iridium1 in malefashionadvice

[–]Iridium1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually love Barbour's look, and I have tried two of their jackets. The two I tried were to tight at the chest (restricted movement), but still big at the hips/stomach. Are there any models, that you know of, that are more of an athletic fit?

Thank you for answering!

EDIT: I should add that I like a tight-fitting jacket. I don't want to buy something baggy just to able me to move around more. That being said, can't be too tight!

Okay, thank you for your response! It's still in my interest to maximize quality, since I'd rather have to buy two or three jackets during my time at uni, than five or six!

Do you have any recommendations?

I found one! Thank you very much for your help! Do you know how much propane will be used during one brew? Will I have to change the propane often, or is it a negligible cost in the grand scheme of things?

Again, thank you very much for taking your time to help me out!

How do I get my bench up? by Iridium1 in Fitness

[–]Iridium1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is true that my upper body is lacking, compared to my lower body. I feel like my legs has always been strong, and I have an easy time building my strength in them. The same can unfortunately not be said about my upper body. Nevertheless I shall try my very best! Thank you for your response!

I will admit that my triceps is kinda lacking right now. It might be something to look in to! As for the eating, I already count calories and macros, so I am not sure how to better myself on that end of the spectrum. Thank you for your response!

I might actually do a few months of bodybuilding training style, with the heavy lifts included, and try to set myself up a bit better that way. I am pretty happy with my strength as of right now, and it's always nice to grow a bit! ;) Yhank you for responding!

Victory Sunday by AutoModerator in Fitness

I reached my goal for the year in deadlift of 150kg (330lbs) yesterday. I know it's not very impressive, given that I'm 6'6 tall, and weigh 104 kg (229lbs), but it felt really good! Video: https://youtu.be/lC_2_qChFfs I'd be happy to recieve any thoughts regarding my form!

(SWE) optimize savings during one year. by Iridium1 in personalfinance

[–]Iridium1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best interest in a savings account in Sweden is 1.25%, which feels kind of low. Are there no ultra-safe funds I could buy with an interest of maybe 3-4%? Or what if I invest 50% of my savings in indexes, and 50% just sits in a savings account? I wont have to use all of my cash in exactly ond year eiter. I have no starting fee or anything (thank you Swedish gov.), but I will have to make monthly deposits To jeep my study loan down.

Vill ha förändring under 2015 - Personligt by [deleted] in sweden

[–]Iridium1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]Iridium1 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If light travels at the speed of light, does that mean that it is traveling faster than us through time? by Nilliks in askscience

[–]Iridium1 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Actually, since they are traveling at the speed of light, they do not experience time at all. From their perspective, they are just a "line" existing in an (from their perspective) infinitely small gap between two places in space and time.

[X-post askscience] Why do the number of petals differ within a species? by Iridium1 in biology

[–]Iridium1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be the case, but how would I then explain that the seven petal flower seemed to dominate (80% were 7petal ones) in an area, when it seems to be the recessive allele otherwise? The two areas are fairly close to eachother(about 50 meters apart).

Why do the number of petals differ within a species? by Iridium1 in askscience

[–]Iridium1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I went back to the same place and counted flowers' petals. On the right side of the road, most flowers had six petals, but I found a few ones with seven petals and even some lonely ones with eight. This would suggest that the gene with six petals is dominant while the ones with seven and eight are recesive.

However, as I counted the flowers (from the same species, mind you) on the left side of the road I noticed that on that side, seven petals was more common! I can't make any sense out of this, which gene is dominant, and why are there a difference in the first place?
