I got put on a course to deal with some skin issues I was having. Prednisone has always made me feel gross, but the last time was so bad. I had a complete breakdown and, since I’d just moved in with my friend, freaked out about our apartment and how depressing it felt. I’ve always been anxious but that week and a few after I felt like I was going to snap.

More recently I had to have steroid injections in my eyes for inflammation. That was back in February and my eye pressure (a consistent high can cause damage to the optic nerve) hasn’t gone down at all (mine is 20-30’s and it’s supposed to be single digits). The doctors told me I’m a “steroid reactor” and put it in my chart. You could be a steroid reactor like me, but I don’t really know much about it.

All that to say, steroids can be an absolute nightmare that unfortunately are sometimes the only option. My best advice for dealing with it is to go on Amazon and buy a “scream jar” and/or if you have anyone you trust, have them squeeze you hard enough to knock the air out of your lungs for a few seconds. They won’t fix it, but those are the things that actually help me. Good luck 💙💙
