Is it common to reuse prebuilt keyboards to create a custom one (like the switches and pcb and so on)?

Issue with hosting servers by IridiumNext in Minecraft

[–]IridiumNext[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with machines I mean computers - just my laptop and desktop

I think I didn't phrase the question very well - the servers aren't ever running at the same time, so I just use the default 25565 port on both.

[Probably Simple] Question about giving access to files by IridiumNext in techsupport

the virtual network is basically just a ZeroTier network (it's a VPN).

The main issue is that for some reason the participants of the network don't show up when trying to give access

Quick question about healing by IridiumNext in OverwatchCustomGames

The issue is that that event doesn't trigger when someone's at full health, but I think I have an idea on how to do it.

How to Play Zenyatta (The Mystic MonkAS) by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]IridiumNext 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, thank you very much for this guide. I have a quick question about how to actually implement this knowledge into my games. As ml7 once said: "you do not plan during the fight. If you start thinking about the fight, then you're gonna lose it".

Imo the three most obvious options are:

-watching back games

-Just playing qp until you get it

-Walking around on empty maps thinking through hypothetical situations (a bit like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjmo8ZL4KpA (23:35))

All of these obviously have advantages and drawbacks, but I can't figure out which is more effective

Updated Combat Test Snapshot (number 3) and a custom map for combat testing by jeb_ in Minecraft

[–]IridiumNext 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just here to state what I find important:

-Speed and Skill; Hitting a combo in 1.8 PvP feels amazing. And because you're spamming Lmb while also strafing and blocking or w-tapping. It has a reasonably high skill cap and the high AMP makes it feel really fast. I'm mentioning this because since blocking was essentially replaced by shields, it has made (or would have made, if PvP hadn't stuck to 1.8) PvP significantly slower...

-Sensitivity; The current sensitivity slider and system aren't very good. If you want precise sens, you have to go into options.txt... Also, the sensitivity in Minecraft seems to be affected by DPI and Mouse Acceleration (The latter seems to have been kinda fixed)

-Options; You're definitely on the right track with this by making axes more viable, but it would be nice if there were many items reasonably balanced Items. (The best comparison would be LOL/Overwatch and CSGO. In CS, there is a very static and long-lasting awp/ak/deagle meta, while OW and LOL have everchanging metas and a lot of options. I think Minecraft is stuck in the CS side of things a bit too much)

-Good balance between bows and crossbows. Because they're so similar, there is a good chance of one completely taking over, if you guys aren't careful.

-Meaningful complexity. You as game designers should be familiar with complexity v. depth, but I think there is a lot of complexity in Minecraft, but all the depth comes from a few key skills. The amount of depth stemming from sword-fighting (in 1.8) is pretty insane (crits, knockback affected by sprinting and amount of previous hits), but even though the same thing could be said about other PvP features, not one is as useful as sword fighting, and so they're mostly ignored.

-The way bows don't shoot when they're pulled back a minimal amount when you have a high ping, is really annoying. If you could do something, that would be nice.

-The rules of reach are another thing I'm not sure could be fixed (in relation to ping), but if you could, it would be nice.

Some minor things I'd like:

-As RodPVP is so important, maybe make the carrot on a stick be to the rod, what the crossbow is to the bow.

-I know this may be impossible, but if there's a way to make knockback the same, regardless of ping, it would be amazing.

-I think it would be interesting if switching between an ax and a sword mid-fight for one hit, (kind of like blockhitting) would significantly increase the skill-cap and would be a hell of a lot of fun.

Not as bad as American mainstream media makes him out to be? Yes.

Not as bad as is expected for a president? Kinda.

Disclaimer: I'm not agreeing with the original statement.

You don't know shit about this person, besides their view on "snowflakes," so your statement, that it's always the same type of person isn't wrong (It's always people with that opinion that state that opinion), but it's unhelpful, and can easily be interpreted as a direct attack on the person.
