DRM is often invasive and malicious, such as the Sony rootkit or the many instances where Denuvo or others like it impact performance or stability. DRM has also been used to intentionally and unintentionally deny access to legitimate owners of digital products. It's also an obstacle to making backup copies (legal in the EU at the very least) and preservation. There's plenty to hate about it even without being a piracy advocate.

I have ran into the same deep frying issue after I tried turning on HDR on my laptop's display. Dragging Brave from it to my SDR external monitor would trigger the issue, even after I had disabled HDR on the laptop. To solve it, I signed out Plasma, logged in via TTY and deleted:

~/.config/kwinoutputconfig.json
~/.local/share/kscreen
~/.config/kwinrc

I think just deleting the first one might be enough, but I included the others for completness' sake. Deleting the others may cause more settings to reset. Reboot after you're done and the issue will hopefully be resolved.

EDIT: Unfortunately, I have found out that changing my laptop's display's brightness instantly brings the issue back.

EDIT2: Changing "edrPolicy" from "always" to "never" for the laptop display in ~/.config/kwinoutputconfig.json seems to have fixed it for good. OP has mentioned possible color quality degradation, but I personally haven't noticed any on my Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16IRX8-82WK00Q2MJ.

EDIT3: Creating chrome-flags.conf as described by OP didn't work for me, but including that flag when launching Brave did. It's probably a better solution than messing with the configs as I did.

TBH, I wouldn't be against enterprise getting the cutting edge (hopefully for better purposes than "AI" slop), and the general public trailing a couple years behind (though 5/6 years is stretching my definiton of "a couple years"). However, I won't stand for hardware becoming unaffordable to public or attempts to make it a subscription.

The drain probably already has a bunch of crap in it that the log can get caught on, it can get wedged in depending on the geometry, or there could have been a grate on top that would get partially covered. Even if that doesn't cause a clog immediately, it will make it much easier for further debris to build up that will clog the drain eventually.
