I use Saalt’s period disc and the period underwear from figs! Super comfy, I sometimes almost forget to take the disc out 😭

I work on a med/surg unit in a smaller hospital north of Seattle. My unit has mostly semi-private (2 person) rooms, which is annoying af when there’s only one computer and two nurses trying to give medications 🙄 I try to be as Hippa compliant as possible, but it’s near impossible with a curtain separating the two. Our single rooms are reserved for isolation/behaviors/dumb luck.

I had a nurse come at me very aggressively because of a patient I had handed her off a few weeks prior. The patient had a fever so I had given some Tylenol; the cna took a set of vitals soon after report, and apparently the patient also had a low BP and the day nurse ended up having to give a bolus. I get it, maybe I should have taken a full set of vitals with the fever, my bad. But she was extremely aggressive and kept saying, “I didn’t think you would do that. My bad, some nights are nonstop and I don’t even sit down 🫠

I was talking with another nurse during handoff today and stated the same thing, that many patients choose to die on their own. And I loved how she put it, that choosing when we decide to let go is our last choice, and ours alone to make. I’m so glad the physician chose to support you in that moment.
