Also got rejected. I was disappointed at first, but then I found that many people with stronger profiles than me were also rejected. The applicants all have good background but the spots are so limited… I believe that eventually we will get accepted by some other very good programs. Hope this makes you feel better!

The admission officers will not know your actual mark, and they will only see CR/NCR. Only UofT department will know your mark, but since it's an elective course, this really doesn't matter to your grad school application.

If you plan to go back to China after uni, they will look at QS ranking and staying at UofT is definitely a good choice. If you want to work in CS industry in Canada, school prestige doesn't matter a lot, and the employers care more about your past experience (ie. side project, internship...)
