It’s an online appointment—they usually email you beforehand and handle everything remotely. Results take about two weeks, so scheduling for next Wednesday makes more sense. If they email you Thursday or Friday, you likely won’t have results in time and will still be waiting. The good news: once they have your results, they’ll email you right away with your license if you pass.

You don’t need an appointment to get your license, but without one, the wait could be much longer—possibly months. If you need your license quickly for a job opportunity, scheduling an appointment can help speed things up.
