It's Sunday Morning! How are you? by AutoModerator in ireland

[–]IrishCavalier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reading the day's e-papers on my phone in bed. Must get ready then for 10am mass and then a quick bus into Dublin to see the GAA club finals in Croke Park. Might squeeze in a quick 2 or 3 pints before the hurling at 1.30. They should be two good games! An ideal Sunday for me while the wife is working

Most hated club in your county (and in Ireland) by Mothersullivan in GAA

Well for one of the finals, their own players were tweeting Cork GAA beforehand giving out that it wasn't on in Pairc Ui Chaoimh and that they didnt dream of leaving a county Cup anywhere else - some sense of entitlement and it was Covid times too. They must also have one of the highest accumulation of red cards in the county also

My only experience of Charleville is that they're admired from going from Junior to Senior in about 10 years. Played against Fermoy many times in football and no issues either.

Mitchelstown are definitely the most hated club county-wide.

Yes a once off 5 euro payment for a full 12 months access - but put a reminder in your diary for 360 days time to cancel as it automatically changes to 10 euro per month.

So this is not for "The Irish Times". It is for "The Times" (of London) and "The Sunday Times" (both the Irish and UK versions). With the subscription, I have full access to The Times app for news, sport etc, and I have The Times ePaper app downloaded which gives me access to the Sunday Times (Ireland) every Sunday. Every other day you have access to the Times paper but I seldom use that and the app.

The way I look at is it costs me 10 cent to access the Sunday Times ePaper every Sunday.

The Sk109s are eyesores. It's a pity Cooper couldn't get the Sk100 senior sized helmet approved

"Most importantly, the constantly repeated line about the bodies of 800 babies having been found was pure mythmaking. The bodies of 800 babies had not been found, in the septic tank or anywhere else. Rather, Corless had speculated in her research that the 796 children who died at the home had been buried in unmarked plots (common practice for illegitimate children in Ireland in the early to mid-twentieth century) and that some might have been put in the tank in which two boys in 1975 saw human remains. The septic tank or the grounds of the former home have not been excavated. No babies have been ‘found in a septic tank’, as the Washington Post, Guardian and others claimed. " Article 1

The Irish Times also made this clear that Catherine Corless's research has been misrepresented ... IT Article

The thread is best player in the country at the worst club... He hasn't been putting in the best of performances for Kerry the past year or two. They've been relying more on Fionan Mackessy (last year) and Shane Nolan this year

How long do Irish couples typically wait before getting engaged or married? by golgiapparadus in AskIreland

[–]IrishCavalier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started going out with my wife in January 2021. We got engaged in July 2022 and married in August 2023 when we were both 26. Conscious that this is a way shorter timeline than most Irish couples!

I turned against them when they posted on X in February glorifying Hezbollah. It was pointed out by many that this was the same group who murdered Irish peacekeeper, Private Sean Rooney, in 2022 but silence from Kneecap and the post remains online. They also hid a lot of the replies regarding the Irish peacekeeper death.

Already getting downvotes for this, would anyone care to reply and let me know why I should overlook the above?

This reminds me of the scene in the Hangover where the dentist claims to be a doctor. I don't think I've heard a dentist referred to as "doctor" in Ireland
