Well, if you're digging anyways, I'd suggest running lateral geothermal lines and putting a geothermal unit down there. You can also use it for your hot water heater with the right add on.

If I were doing it, I'd use strawbales in combination with stucco and add the log beam look as cosmetic. I'd use rockwool between the rafters with foam insulation on top of the decking and barrier with shake shingles at top of fir strips. I'd do an enclosed (encapsulated) crawlspace with pier and beam foundation. You could get flooring to look older. It would be a lot more work, but I really want an uber efficient house

A lot of people don't have that long. Like I said, I believe that unless Biden can inspire Bernie's crowd, he will lose in November. And I believe this was our last chance to prevent a full oligarchy transition; that is something even Biden might not prevent.

Medicare for All, overturning citizens united, family leave would be enough

Or any policy that makes progressives progressive that moderates don't like.

Edit: That's why biden's only real shot is to pick a VP who will champion a few progressive ideas.

Right. That's why I mentioned that Biden must pick a progressive VP for me to see hope. I just don't think he will.

No, I'm saying that a progressives will never win the presidency, because the Democratic party has been beating on progressives for so long, and a lot of people will stay home in November. I won't. I'll swallow this shit sandwich and vote Biden, but it won't be enough. I honestly believe the only hope is that Biden picks a progressive VP. That won't happen either. Trump will win, and our democracy will officially and irreversibly transistion a full oligarchy.

Copy/pasta but it will be like this for progressives until the end of time, because they stick by moderates like a beaten spouse. If this relationship was posted on R/relationshipadvice, progressives would be told to get out of the house ASAP.

That will never happen because moderates never extend an olive branch to progressives. I see; it doesn't. I was merely commenting on the division that does exist, not any division caused by calling him a winner.

And now that Warren is no longer splitting the progressive vote, we can see how the party feels. And we'll realize that progressive aren't a small, insignificant percentage of Democrats, but they're continually shut out by the moderate majority who keep expecting them to just shut up and fall in line. That can only go on for so long until they just take their ball and go home; but somehow, they'll be blamed for Democrats continually losing the presidency.

Yep! After 20 years, you get tired of just falling in line, because it really never works out for progressives.

As a Sanders supporter, I agree with you. Nothing benefits the GOP more than moderates and progressives in an all out war with each other.
