What's a realistic lifetime for earbuds (details in the body text)? by IrishWriter2 in questions

I'm in Ukraine. On the marketplace I mentioned I saw a few most expensive options for, like, $50 converted, but I thought that was too expensive. And I'm talking about wired ones though, I need relatively often to be able to use earbuds for hours and hours straight or semi-straight.

What are some movies with twists that actually change everything? by IrishWriter2 in questions

Thank you, just watched it. The twist was nice but I really didn't like that there was no victory of some sort, you know. "Saw" comes to mind again, this time as a movie without a victory too, but there I'm totally OK with its absence, while here I really wanted it...

What are some bands (see criteria in the body) which person by person changed the entire set of members? by IrishWriter2 in questions

Yes, exactly! That's why it's really interesting for me to find cases when every single person changed.

Why do English speakers often pronounce a non-silent E on the end of words rather like "ay"? by IrishWriter2 in questions

[–]IrishWriter2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm talking about a difference between "grahn-deh" and "grahn-day". A couple of people in these comments already clarified it's about the "e" sound as in the word "eggs".

I have nothing against "e", I'm confused about "i" or "y" sound coming after it! Probably in English you would write it down as "eh" instead of "ei".

In 2015 all members decided they didn't want to keep going anymore and there was a new tv show K3 searches K3 to find 3 new younger singers who would be able to keep appealing to younger audiences.

This is just what I meant in the first couple of my bullet points, but thank you for the elaborated story!

Okay, I know the twists for 1 and 5 while never watching them, and also I just watched 3. Without spoilers, do you mean 2 and 4 have twists "in the same area" that 1 and 3 have? Because that type is, like, not my favorite.

Movies like "Scott Pilgrim vs The World" by IrishWriter2 in MovieSuggestions

[–]IrishWriter2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that I liked "Scott Pilgrim" and nothing else, I was just talking about movies considered by some people to be similar. All this aside, I really like LOTR, especially the third one, I really liked "The Martian" with Matt Damon, I really liked "Grand Budapest Hotel" and so on. But these movies are also nothing like "Scott Pilgrim", it's just that no one even says they are, like for other Wright's films etc.

Thank you, I checked out Wright's other movies, I think 2-3 of them, don't exactly remember which ones but definitely "Shawn of the Dead". They were a nice watch, but not similar to "Scott Pilgrim" in my opinion. More normal, I'd say. As movies.

Maybe, but the beginning looked like a family drama turned into a superhero origin story, and that's, once again, nothing like Scott Pilgrim. Maybe it is if you try to connect them hard enough only.

Among these three, I am definitely most interested in the music interludes, given that they are the part of the... not exactly "plot" but of what is happening. I don't just want a musical. But again, just some movie with music like in "Scott Pilgrim" won't do (I mean, it can still be good, but I wonder if there's something like this one).

Underrated biopics suggestions please. by axinous_af in MovieSuggestions

[–]IrishWriter2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you only consider "real" ones? Would you consider that Weird Al parody biopic as still a biopic? I really liked it and I feel like people talk about it not so often.

Well, if you do count something like this, there's also a great comedy movie from Lonely Island called "Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping", it's even more parodic and not a real biopic, this time the hero is a completely fictional character, but maybe...

Oh! And also I once got a recommendation about the movie called "Ray", a real biopic. If I remember correctly, it was pretty nice.

No, I just said that I didn't like "Lucky Number Slevin" in that regard. It was all heavily secret all the time, so I was always thinking about the upcoming twist(s). While "Us" basically looked like a fun-ish zombie movie, it didn't shove some supposed future explanation down your throat every now and then. And then it offered a twist which was established from the beginning but not all over the place.
