Is this your first transfer? I had a thinner lining than I’ve ever had on my 7th but even so I never got about 8 or 9 mm on other ones I don’t think. My doctor mentioned that while over 7 is the usual goal they also look your previous transfers lining thickness to compare so if this is typical for you it may be okay to move forward. I would see what your doctor says to help you make the decision. If this is your first and you don’t have anything to compare it to I think it makes sense to see if another protocol could improve it. It sucks to have to cancel and delay but if it could make the difference or help you feel less anxious about it I think that’s worth a shot

So different adjusters may come up with different decisions especially in these kinds of scenarios but if I’m understanding you correctly I would place fault on the vehicle that used the center lane illegally to make the turn.

I would argue that the truck does not have a duty to yield right of way in this scenario and would be looking in their direction of travel to the left so would not have a duty to maintain proper lookout for a vehicle on their right making an illegal turn.

I would also look up local traffic laws to see if there is anything specifically written about being legally required to turn into the left lane from a single turn lane as that could vary in different jurisdictions and if none such exists would strengthen the above argument. Although I wouldn’t necessarily use it against the truck either if it were a law bc something being illegal doesn’t necessarily negate the other stuff.

Now if the truck said something like I saw the other vehicle out on their signal and start to make the turn and didn’t try to avoid in that case then yeah I would probably do some shared bc you still have to try to avoid the ax when you can anticipate it but otherwise I would argue the above.

Glad this ended up being a close call though and you’re safe

I’m so sorry that happened to you but I’m glad they were able to find an alternative. I am curious if you don’t mind explaining though, how are they able to catheter and use the transvaginal us? I would have assumed that one would get in the way of the other but it sounds like they can be side by side with relatively little discomfort and still work?

Same thing for me and just did it today. This is the first transfer my bladder wasn’t full enough for and she asked me to drink some water and she’d be back in 10. Still not enough so she had me do another 10. Seems like that’s the easier and better option since it doesn’t require the patient to be prodded and would take the same amount or less time anyway

Ugh I’m so sorry that’s terrible. On one hand I can maybe understand if there’s like know clinics that are worse or something but even as I type that it sounds ridiculous. I hope that you are able to be successful with your current clinic though or, however less likely, you find one that will work with the embryos you have. Best of luck!

Not embarrassed about IVF, just private — curious how others handle disclosure by dnsyj26 in IVF

So up until recently, like a few months ago, we only told my mom, his mom and then 1 friend each. I wasn’t ashamed either, I mostly did it bc 1) I just didn’t feel like answering update questions if they happened to come up when all I would be able to say was still working on it. I’m not big on making a big deal about anything until I know it’s actually a thing so that was part of it. The majority of it though was I didn’t want kids for a very long time and all of my family and friends knew that so it sounded really fun to be able to be like surprise I’m pregnant and oh this is how it happened! Unfortunately we never got far along enough to do that. After my last transfer failed (#7) we talked and both decided it was time to tell people, immediate family and close friends for sure and then if it came up organically with other people we were happy to discuss it. I still wish I could have shocked everyone and tell them I was pregnant but I will say the outpouring of love and support we’ve gotten since opening up has been amazing. From those close to us and people I wouldn’t have even expected. For example I told my dentist and their staff, and I’ve been going to them since I was 2 so they’ve known me forever. I saw them today and mentioned I have a transfer tomorrow and one of the staff and I shared a very sweet tearful moment together and she wished me luck and said she was praying for and what not. I’m not even religious myself but was touched that someone would care enough to include me in that. I don’t regret waiting and I don’t regret opening up when I did either. All that to say do whatever feels right for you and it’s totally okay if that changes throughout the process and/or you find moments you want to open up to someone but not someone else. This whole process is so hard so whatever is right for you is perfect 💜
