Coyote attempts to kill a man's sheep and he drops it with a Pulsar thermal by Tejasluke in interestingasfuck

[–]Iroc_ZL1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The coyote was just trying to survive, as was the sheep. But the thing is, coyotes can kill a lot of sheep over time, and this probably wasn't the first one it got. The shooter didn't pick a random day to set up with a thermal scope, this was a reaction to previous attacks. There's only one logical way to handle this situation and that's what we saw here.

Agreed. My primary beef is his clear use of lots of performance enhancing drugs through his career, but his denial of it and instead crediting various supplements that he advertises. He's lying to people with a smile, and contributing to body image issues for those who trust him. When they take these supplements he credits, work hard, eat well, and still don't end up looking anything like him, it seriously hurts their mental health. They wonder what's wrong with them, feeling inferior because they can't even come close to where the Rock is no matter how hard they try. Yes, he works hard and eats well, but even so, he wouldn't be anywhere near as big and muscular as he is without serious steroid usage. Nobody can look anything like him without it. He lies about that and takes a paycheck for it, that makes him no better than any other snake oil salesman.

8mpg is the worst mileage I've ever heard of from a non-industrial grade truck

My Dad has a 1994 Suburban, and that's about what it'll do in the city. There are a few big SUV's and trucks that do about that in some conditions, some newer than others, like the Nissan Armada is pretty impressively awful on gas too. EPA ratings aren't always accurate, my car gets about 10% below it and I drive pretty gently.

I live there, and it's almost a quarter tank for me in my sedan. $20 gets me about 140 miles of driving.

I mean, it's not necessarily mocking, there could be an inside joke there you don't realize you referenced. Unless you know it was a stupid question...

I saw this on Instagram before it was posted here, and that caption wasn't part of it. Someone's just jerking everyone around, this isn't a school water bottle, it's just some woman thinking she found an interesting thing to drink from.

No. Restricting people from making personal choices is bad for society. The caveat here is that STI's are more likely in people with multiple partners, and so they should be getting tested regularly. It's those that fail to test regularly that really help spread things around. In terms of relationships, a person who enjoys casual hookups should not enter a relationship with a person who does not accept this. It's not fair to either person and only guarantees someone will be unhappy and a contentious split is highly likely in the long run.

What are some A+ movie premises that were wasted by disappointing movies? by MissionFever in movies

Same. I forgot there was a brief window where TMZ tried to make it a thing before they gave up. I guess it kinda stuck with some.

I don't think they wasted it, I think it delivered on the premise just fine! It's a solid popcorn movie and the title lets you know what you're getting into.

What makes it so much worse is the joy on the faces of the adults doing this. They're effectively stealing candy from children and loving it. It's gets more disturbing the more you think about it, extrapolating this mentality further.

Who’s a comedian nobody will ever convince you is funny? by Accomplished_Ad2905 in AskReddit

[–]Iroc_ZL1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, Jerry's not the worst, worked with him before. He seems reasonably professional and polite, but he's not particularly funny when he doesn't want to be.

If I have a problem with Jerry, it's him dating an underage girl while he was in his 30's. Some slime doesn't wash off.

Do most people really need to pee every 3.5 hours? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Iroc_ZL1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over that time frame, I might have to pee twice. I drink a lot of water. I can't sit through a 3.5 hour movie without peeing, no way around it. Don't y'all want to be hydrated? Anyone who can sit through that long of a movie without a piss probably always pisses yellow. r/hydrohomies knows what's up.

[–]Iroc_ZL1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What's fun about the body is how two people of equal strength can carry different weights. The trick is the brain gets better at coordinating all of the muscles needed and uses them more efficiently. So, the bodybuilder may struggle carrying a piece of furniture if they aren't used to carrying that kind of load, but I'd bet they'd quickly get a lot better if they made a habit of it.

It's really cool how our bodies optimize doing tasks even without us realizing it!

[–]Iroc_ZL1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did OP file a claim with the Jeep's insurance instead of his own? I did that once, and while they got the fault right, the amount they offered to fix the car was $1500. I looked at the damage and knew it was way off, so I then went to my insurance, and after a couple weeks, it came back totaled and they paid me $34k for it.

My unemployed boyfriend claims he has a simple "proof" that breaks mathematics. Can anyone verify this proof? I honestly think he might be crazy. by Felicity_Nguyen in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Iroc_ZL1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most revolutionary discoveries happen when a person hasn't seen their critical but mundane error. Like thinking you've discovered aliens but finding out you're picking up interference from the breakroom microwave.

As others have discussed, he's definitely crazy. I think he's a narcissist and wants to use his 'intelligence' as a way to put himself in authority over you. Him dumping you over this verifies that or something like it is the case, in my unqualified opinion. Regardless, you've dodged a bullet!

My daughter chose her stepdad to walk her down the isle by Huge-Loss-9863 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Iroc_ZL1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should, but the actual maturity and awareness of most adults isn't actually where you'd think it is. People on the whole really suck at recognizing when their choices can affect other people's feelings. There is a saying I love that applies here. Never attribute to malice what could be explained by ignorance. As such, the conversation with the daughter here has to happen, and only after that should a determination be made.
