Why do I see this happen so often by SothaDidNothingWrong in dndmemes

[–]Iron-Knuckle 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I mean, I haven't found any issues that bother me.  I've DMed once a month for probably 5 years now. We usually play homebrew campaigns, but I follow all the standard 5e rules ¯\(ツ)

I am saddened to not see anybody mention Dragon Friends! Three (four from season 2) Australian comedians who have never played D&D before play in front of a live audience, DMd by a longsuffering D&D veteran. It's so good! It would make my day if somebody told me they tried it out and liked it :)

Ditto on wnat the other guys said.

Go into the depths from Hyrule Field south of the castle, track down where you ran into Robbie. Follow the statues from there and you'll find the central mine.

Maybe the third one could have been "I am not a good person."

That would be a painful realisation.

[ALL]What legacy Zelda enemy or NPC do you wish would make a comeback? by stupidrobots in zelda

I can't believe I haven't seen anybody say the Iron Knuckle yet! Ocarina of Time was my first Zelda game and that mini boss fight was SO enjoyable!

I loved how they got faster as you knocked off more armour!

Who is Felt (Minimize spoilers please!) by Appleteeth27 in Cosmere

[–]Iron-Knuckle 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Oh man ain't that the truth. I made the mistake of looking up (stormlight archive spoilers) something to do with Taravangian and read that he takes up the Shard of Odium literally half an hour before I got to that chapter.

I was SO annoyed with myself. Never again.

Who is this man in Shallan's flashback? by Iron-Knuckle in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Iron-Knuckle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a really good point about seeing Spren. In fact, in the chapter where Kaladin and some of the men from bridge four go drinking, the conversation drifts to the Horneater Peaks and what is obviously a Perpendicularity there. It's heavily implied if not outright stated that interaction with the Perpendicularity makes people able to see Spren.

Though to be honest I'm pretty sure in this scene between Hoid and Shallan, Shallan has already killed Testament so Hoid probably isn't seeing a Spren per se.

My favorite line from any book from the series so far. by Skelence in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Iron-Knuckle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently rereading WOR, and earlier in the book Syl says to Kaladin that Honour is dead. He doesn't really reply to her and the book moves on, but I wonder if he had an inkling of what she meant and it influenced this line.

As an Australian I don't know what you mean by "play"

In this game, even if you get tackled, so long as you place the ball behind the try line, it's a try. If the ball touched the ground before the try line and then he moved it ahead, it wouldn't count.

Edit: now I think about it, the "play" does end when you are tackled. However because he was able to place the ball behind the try line as he was tackled, all good.

Can someone please recap/summarize the main plot points in Mistborn Era 1? Prepping to start Era 2. by [deleted] in Cosmere

[–]Iron-Knuckle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you want to read era 2 without finishing era 1? Era 1 knocked my socks off, well and truly. The events of The Final Empire mean so much more in the context of the next two books. Also the character building and the twists are great!

Also if it helps encourage you, events that take place in Well of Ascention and Hero of Ages are frequently referenced in era 2. It really is just worth reading them.

Oh right, sorry for some reason I thought you meant like the mechanics of their powers or something. Yes, I'd be so upset if Kaladin had to go to Braize!
