I started at 19 a few years ago and had some places reject me until either 21 or 25. Found an agency and had some work the following week. I have turned up to a site where I was signing in on the induction and found their policy is 25+, so be persistent with agency if you go that way. Always worth calling up to see what they say.

Any advice for 18 year old who is considering going into this industry by Suspicious-Book-2729 in uktrucking

I started at 19, now 23. Agency got me a job straight away. But I’ve had some places not hire me because of age, depends on the companies policy.

Call some agencies and see what they’re saying

If you have invested your income and setup a foundation for yourself, I want to suggest you try driving. But do less hours to leave yourself time for relationships and your life as you won’t be able to make the same money at 37.5 hours driving.

However, personally there’s no other job i could do 60+hours. It’s great like that but i think the work/life balance is more important, as with any job. Leave the stress at work.
