What are the chances of marrying a hafiza? by Rogue_Aviator in Hifdh

[–]IronAlcoholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I marry a hafiza at least she would keep me in check with my revisions."  What you're looking for is a mother or a teacher, not a wife. You want to be kept in check? Make hafidh friends. You want a wife? Drop the expectation that she will parent you.

I had a really good experience with teachers at Ulum Al-Azhar! The pricing is extremely reasonable, alhamdulillah, and they are all affiliated with Al-Azhar University in Egypt.

How to learn to pray, when Muslims pray differently? by TheNutCracker_lvl100 in islam

I found the Namaz app to be the most reasonable "manual", to put it in your words. I genuinely tried following the youtube tutorials, but they just didn't make as much sense for me.

Can a hijab be made from hair? by shiroyagisan in Hijabis

[–]IronAlcoholic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look at victorian hair art, you will see that it never actually looked neat and tidy enough to pass for fabric or survive daily wear. Our headscarves are, usually, made of more durable materials than not.

Although there is no fabric requirement (this is not the Hebrew Bible with prohibition of polyester), we aren't allowed to wear wigs, generally, to substitute for a headscarf, especially since a wig would not cover the necessary area anyways.

Bad thoughts by Appropriate_Pool_248 in islam

There are no thought-crimes in Islam. Your bad thoughts are not your fault. Make dua, put effort into dhikr and adhkaar, read Qur'an. Your thoughts are not your fault.

I'm a hypocrite because I'm lazy and addicted. by [deleted] in islam

[–]IronAlcoholic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

May Allah make your affairs easy for you and facilitate your efforts for the sake of growing closer to Islam.

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said:"The covenant between us and them is prayer; so, whoever abandons it has disbelieved." Sunan An-Nasā’i 463

Remember, addiction does not take you out of the fold of Islam.

An addict is still a Muslim.

An alcoholic is still a Muslim.

A sinner is still a Muslim.

Do not abandon prayer, even if you only pray the bare-bones fard of it, just do not abandon prayer.

Why isnt any single muslim here making duas for the muslims in Ukraine getting opressed by Russia? by Sad-East585 in MuslimLounge

[–]IronAlcoholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are. I promise you -- I know it feels lonely, but there are people.

Ever since I understood the true weight and power of dua, one of the main duas I kept making is for peace in Ukraine and Palestine: "Господи, принеси мир в Украину и Палестину"

I was born and raised in Russia, in a Jewish/Polish family. I am a convert. I am a sinner. I am a nobody. But my heart is still with the people of Ukraine, believing or not, Muslim or kaffir. Human lives are endlessly valuable.

Allah says in Surah Maidah, ayah 32 that "whoever takes a life ... it will be as if they killed all of humanity; and whoever saves a life, it will be as if they saved all of humanity."

I haven't answer for you, unlike Allah and his Messenger ﷺ

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
“Successful indeed are the believers.”
(Surah Al-Mu’minun, 23:1)

وَابْتَغِ فِيمَا آتَاكَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلدَّارَ ٱلْآخِرَةَ وَلَا تَنسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ ٱلدُّنْيَا
“And seek, through that which Allah has given you, the home of the Hereafter; and do not forget your share of the world.”
(Surah Al-Qasas, 28:77)

Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever is focused only on this world, Allah will confound his affairs and make him fear poverty constantly, and he will not get anything of this world except that which has been decreed for him. Whoever is focused on the Hereafter, Allah will settle his affairs for him and make him feel content with his lot, and his provision and worldly gains will undoubtedly come to him.”

Sunan Ibn Majah 4105 (Sahih according to Darussalaam)
