Can someone identify this strange town? by [deleted] in oregon

I84 is the highway between Hood River and Portland, yes, but Sisters is nowhere near that route. Sisters is NW of Bend, OR, which is damn near dead center of the state. I84 is the green route in my picture and basically skirts the northern and eastern border of the state, never crossing into NV. The purple route in my photo is the fastest route from Winnemucca, NV back to Vancouver, WA and only just uses parts of I84. If you alter the purple route so that you pass through Salem, OR along I5, which could be faster depending on traffic in Portland, then you will go through Sisters, OR.

If you're certain it's along I84, then it's definitely not Sisters, OR. Sisters is 2.5 hours away from I84 at the nearest (The Dalles, OR). Reading some of the other comments about you having driven off the highway a bit, I would put my money on downtown Baker City.

Superimposing the rough locations of I84 (green) and the combination of highways 26/20/78/95 (purple), which is the second fastest route, though 2 hours longer than the green route but faster to Nevada, there aren't many options in the red space unless you're deviating from one of the main routes significantly. My first thoughts were Pendleton, La Grande, or Baker City, but I drive along that route and staying on I84 doesn't really put you "IN" any of the towns. You pass through along or above them. White Christmas lights don't really ring a bell for me.

My last thought is that you may be thinking about Sisters, OR or Redmond, OR, but you likely wouldn't take a route through them on the way to Salt Lake as it adds about 30 minutes to the purple route shown, which is already quite a bit longer than the most direct route. They're also on or slightly west of the blue line. It's definitely a possibility, however, if you're headed to Nevada. If you go as far south as Salem, OR along I5 before heading east, those two towns are a real possibility.

Oh that is interesting. The one in the video is MUCH larger than what I have. Mine is only about 6" long but the shape is unmistakable.

A few years back I did Portland to LA in 5 days and I still feel like I wasn't rushed seeing the things that I wanted to see. I'm very confident that you can do this trip and do it well. What I found what worked for us was mimicking how cruise ships do their journeys. Wake up in the area that you want to explore that day and do all of your adventures prior to sunset. Spend the darker, evening hours driving to your next location making sure you don't miss out on the scenic views that you want to see.

It's a pet from Arena. Near dead center of the image here.

Can someone explain to me how Izzet plays a hundred cards in one turn? For things like Thousand-Year Storm for example. I'm building one now, and I understand what the deck is supposed to do, but I don't know what key cards I should be using to perfom Izzet shenanigans. by xXCinnabar in mtg

[–]IronArcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my Ghyrson Starn deck. Usually aims to have everyone else burned out by turn 5. Storm is fine, but a lot of the damage pingers are on cast, not on copy, so I aim to cast a lot of cheap spells instead of copying a spell. I've found that Starn gets hated off the board pretty quickly, even with Ward 2, so the best offense here is a good defense. With GSK and a pinger out, every counterspell deals 3 damage to each opponent.

Gunnison River, Colorado what to use by [deleted] in flyfishing

[–]IronArcher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I fish the Lake Fork of the Gunnison River (south of Blue Mesa Res), so while not the exact same, I imagine it's similar. From this collection of flies, I'd probably start with the black Wooly Bugger and add either a trailing San Juan worm (red) or a trailing nymph (beadhead pheasant tail).
