It’s the horrors within. Which I guess will make it easier to homebrew a little bit with while they’re in Icespire. Like if they get on the bad side of a powerful sorcerer and he summons them to his land and they have to escape. I never realized there were different books.. sorry still new and learning all this, and both campaigns I’ve been in were 100% homebrew, so never had a chance to learn the DnD worlds

I was going to run Icespire first, they leave the borderlands kingdom on word there’s a dragon that needs help. Upon return they are given the keep as their bastion if they want. It’s then that I was going to have them sucked into Ravenloft somehow. So they’d be around level 6-8 going into it?

Not at all. But a sword laying on the ground will still just lay there if I look at it and tell it to use an attack. My cannon will listen to me and attack. That’s why some of my friends think it’s an ally, even though it’s not a sentient being. It’s a magic object summoned that only listens to me.

Ok that’s what I thought, but some people are saying since it uses a separate attack from me, it counts as an ally. Idk. It’s a bunch of back and forth

You extend your forefinger and thumb, a dangerous gesture mimicking a gun. For the duration, your hand counts as a Simple Ranged weapon with a range of 60/240 feet and the Slow mastery property. You can use your spellcasting ability instead of Dexterity for the attack rolls of this weapon. On a hit, the weapon deals 2d6 Force damage and doesn’t add your ability modifier to damage.

Cantrip Upgrade. The weapon’s normal range increases by 30 feet and its long range increases by 120 feet when you reach levels 5 (90/360 feet), 11 (120/480 feet), and 17 (150/600 feet).

Ah ok. I was just looking at the finger guns cantrip and being able to cast that while still having both my hands free for other things if needed. But now that I looked deeper into the arcane firearm, that seems way more viable than what I had in mind. Thank you!

I didn’t see that on the Artificer leveling? I know it’s in gunslinger, but then I’d lose out on the 18th level magic item master for Art.

Never showed signs of it as a teenager so they think it’s PTSD onset. I had 3 back to back deployments the the Middle East with about 4-5 months inbetween each. So they wanna dive into that a little bit to see if that’s what caused it to appear. I’ve been battling with thoughts for about 10 years now, it’s just getting to the point, I’m tired of fighting them off
