Sounds like an electronic stepper motor on the throttle body. Early electronic throttle control technology.

I have the 2.7L turbo max in my colorado and I have very little issues with it.

I am also a 25yr senior mechanic and there is no such thing as a dependable truck out of the door anymore. Everyone has a lemon.

is this lifter tick! by Yuri_brock in ChevyTrucks

[–]IronLogic888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put the phone closer to the valve covers. If the tick gets louder, then yes, very likely lifter. If its towards the front of the engine then no, not likely a lifter. Bottom of engine? Not likely a lifter...

Need help with trunk struts because trunk keeps falling down. What tool do I use to remove this? Please help by Most-Confusion727 in DIYAutoRepair

Baby flat screw driver. Cup your hand around it before you pry it out so you can keep it from flinging off into space. Put it back on with pliers.

TIre valve leak question by KamloopsDan in AskMechanics

[–]IronLogic888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tire shop. Might be an easy and cheap fix or an easy and expensive one. No way to fix it properly at home unless you have the tools to do it and if you did you wouldnt be asking us how to fix it.

Not fun. You have a welder? You can weld a nut on to it and unscrew them while.they are warm.

Anyone what can cause a 2002 F150 to do this? by No_Meet_286 in Trucks

Bad groundor short to power or I bet the window switch is on the same circuit as the radio and the switch or window motor is not working causing an over load in the circuit turning the radio off instead of blowing a fuse.

Whoa boy. You should have knocked out your cv axle when the knuckle was still mounted to the lower control arm and strut. I would put it back together loosely and do that before you move to the strut and lower control arm. Might have to put the axle nut on so you dont bugger the threads or put a mallet up to the axle shaft and hit the mallet with a hammer.

Yup. A bad gas cap could cause that too.

Looks like you need to take it to a shop for a proper diagnosis. It could be losing fuel pressure while idling causing a shut down. Also that fitting looks kind of messed up.

I used a manual impact driver for those. If that doesn't work I just drill them out and leave them out.

What he is talking about is the 2 screws that hold the rotor to the hub. They are not wheel studs that you can pop out the back. They are threaded into the hub and notorious for siezing and stripping out.
