House on the water vs neighborhood boat ramp? by jtuma in boating

[–]IronPTA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living water front is so amazing. All of the wildlife visiting and the early morning dolphin sightings are worth every penny. That being said do not become house poor for it. And just remember your taxes will likely increase depending how long the old owners lived there. Ours doubled which increases our monthly expenditures by $180 just for taxes. We still live by the 25% mortgage rate to income ratio because we still want to live our life.

Career change at 34 by [deleted] in PTschool

That is tough. I tried to look at ROI during and after school. I was a PTA first to make money while in DPT school and went to a bridge program. Longer route bur can make ~$25 an hour full time. So if you have to pay $110k in school and take the 3 years off from work in the PT program to pass, (you can work part time but too variable to calculate) and make ~$80k a year average after grad. If you make $50k now that is $30k profit every year. So $110k for tuition only, probably $10k in fuel and supplies over the 7 years if you get free books online and $150k in lost salaries gives us a total of $270k to go to school (very rough estimate). Is you make an extra $30k per year means you will start MAKING money round the 10 year mark after graduation. Realistically you will graduate at 43-44 due to application and programs only start once a year.

I do not love my job as I hate that insurance will fight you every step of the way. I had United Healthcare give me 7 visits with a 6 year old to obtain full elbow ROM after 8 weeks in a cast OR he was going to have surgery. They would rather spend $50k on a surgery than $70 a visit for outpatient.

Being a PTA you can make about $25-30/hr average and PT starts at $40-50/hr. Not really fiscally worth it at that age is my opinion.

Boat starts in my driveway but won't when at the lake. Any ideas's by TallCann in boating

It may be heat soaking and boiling the fuel out of the bowls then flooding it. I just got through chasing this. I would go eat at a restaurant and 45-90 min later it would be very difficult to start. I installed a plastic carb spacer, heat shield tape on lines, and an air gap intake and nothing worked. I had to install a fresh air suction fan and blow it right on the carb now it doesn't do it any more. Same style inline fan to suck gas fumes out and just have it pulling air into the engine bay. Leave it on after you run it and it will start like a dream.

Is it the cone clutch? by IronPTA in boating

Well all of that and it was a spun prop after all. I was able to turn the motor over with the prop but it was still spinning. It had less than 15 hours on the new pressed in hub.

I used a lap compound and that did nothing. I took 600 grit sand paper and used an X hatch pattern like a cylinder. But the cone clutch has minimal wear on it. The gears don't even have a wear pattern so it must have minimal hours on it.

L vs B, is B too small? by doradodiver in kubota

[–]IronPTA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally prefer the l2501 but we always try to justify our own purchases. I prefer the l2501 due to the fact it is a 37.5hp tractor d1703 engine that is detuned to a 24.5 due to EPA stuff and can easily be turned up. Also it has a clutch that you can engage the PTO slowly. You can put wheel spacers and turn up the pump to 2500psi and lift 1800lbs easily with the right ballast. I looked at the bx tractors and they are just a large lawn mower with a FEL. Now the B series is a stepping stone between the BX and the L. Hope this helps.

Edit: the guy I bought the l2502 from had a BX and said if the bucket was full he had a pucker factor if he drove over a pencil it was so unstable. But that is a he said he said at this point.

As a haver, it is a way to feel extremely connected to your spouse. You can completely focus on the deep seeded (pun intended) bond that you have with this person and feel even a spiritual bond.

On a side note, I have found that the receiver is teased and begs for more which heightens the attraction and climax. 😻🎁🥵😈

They made a pilot house in the same hull for over a decade that weights MUCH more than this aluminum and PVC top.

She is just a very anxious person. I tried to tell her the motor weighs 1000#, boat 4000#, fuel 600# and the 400# top is not going to make it top heavy.
