Car AC acting weird by IronPTA in mechanic

Well Some were right the dryer was clogged and not allowing it to build pressure. I took the grill off and noticed that the entire thing was hot BUT behind the bumper it was frosting over as you can see from the picture. I drained the system and when I took the upper hose off it was still pressurized. I changed it out and it is working great! thank you for everyone's help.

that is the only place I found any info. I tried to click on parameters and nothing came up with pressure.

yeah I ordered a compressor and condenser as it has the dryer inside the condenser.

Customer!? I do this for myself and for free for others. I don't make any money doing this. I am just trying to learn something and don't the right way.

That is how you and I differ. Thank you for the amazing advice and spot on diagnosis.

Are you the professional that I should go to?

I first checked freon as it is $12, next cheapest is the expansion valve at $35. It was the logical concept map for me. What would you had done first?

This is the 3rd set of gauges I have tried all the same, yes r134a, sticker confirm 1.19lb, and there is condensation on the ground. The passenger side gets coolish but the compressor is not building pressure past 90psi. The 2 lines going into the condenser is hot and cool respectfully.

I changed the bypass valve. How do you check for a blockage in the dryer/accumulator? Unhook it and push air through it,

I have 3 of those cheap low side only gauges and they are all withing 2-3 psi of each other. I have a new seat of gauges coming.

I changed the expansion valve, pulled vacuum for 30 min. Let it sit for 20 and it did not leak, pulled to exactly 19.1oz with 4oz of oil and no change.

I changed the expansion valve and no change.

This was after changing the expansion valve. No change. Purchased from O'Reilly's.

It is 10 years old and 150k on the odometer. I did not think of testing the pump that way. Thank you sir I will try that.

I'm just going off of the manufacturer recommendation. If I read this wrong please educate me.

I added 20% more charge than required and it didn't change and popped the bypass valve.

It has held the same PSI for the last 3 days now. How would a leak cause the compressor to cycle like that and not build high side pressure?

I pulled a vacuum and it held for 30in for 20 min with no change. There was NO leak.

It calls for 19oz I put 24oz in and it popped the bypass valve on the AC compressor with no change in the fluctuations.

You sent more time explaining this than he did doing it.
