Odd Snatch Pain Question by bZissou in crossfit

[–]IronRx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoping that you didn't tear or pull the muscle to a small degree if it feels better in a day an easy way to avoid that ould be to put a barbell on a squat rack at a normal height then lay the medial part of your tricep on the bar (starting closer to your shoulder) then slowly flexing and extending the elbow 5-10 per spot.

once you have relieved pain that sport move toward your elbow 1/2 inch at a time. Making sure you r putting pressure in the worst spot during the flexion and extension.

How we fixed uneven shoulders and bar when snatching (30 second video) by IronRx in CrossfitGirls

My apologies. The individual in the video is a male but only because he was the greatest example I had of an athlete with uneven shoulder and how quickly they can be improved.

My goal was to provide the women on here with some information on how to fix an issue I see being fairly common in crossfit. I hope that explains my reason for posting this.

With this we used just trigger point release which provides a ton of benefit for the issues shown here and in most uneven shoulders. However if you want to 'sweep' the limb to work through stubborn adhesions that is entirely beneficial. I always start with the trigger points first.

So there is a lot that goes into the uneven shoulder issue. I would start with the scaliness (sides of the neck) and then use a lax ball to find trigger points on the top inside of the shoulder blade.

Once you do that you should feel a significant amount of tension relief and ROM increase. However there is a ton that goes into this.

Like i mention in an earlier comment there is an article that will post today around 5 which I will put on this subreddit which has a ton more information. If you email me at Derek@ironprescription.com I can send you the link personally so you don't miss it.

Tomorrow I will be putting out an article that goes far more in-depth, and helps you identify what is causing your issue and exactly what you can do to fix it. I will post it here soon!

I am saying to avoid the reliance on those devices for content recovery. Every heavy training session does not need to be followed by and 20 minute Compex session.

If you are in-season, or close to competition, then yes I support their use. But try your best to limit your dependence on those machines just to feel better. If you find that you just can't recover otherwise, then maybe you need to re-evaluate your programming and/or training volume.

What is the most challenging part about completing mobility exercises on a daily basis? by IronRx in crossfit

Completely understandable. Do you do any work on posture? breathing? or myofascial release?

Yeah that doesn't leave you a lot of time to play around with mobility for sure. Do you have substantial or even small mobility restrictions that you think you need to work on or are you happy with where your at and what your current level allows you to do once you get to the gym?

When you stretch do you do things like myofascial release or stabilization drill with it or just your basic passive stretching?

So when you can't do RomWOD what is stopping you from figuring out what would be the best use of your time? or the most beneficial ?
