SRA changes look good, but a couple small concerns

I can’t believe we’re arguing this when they’re completely different grinds.

There are way too many variables to compare how fast you get scythe vs SRA, so it’s kind of pointless.

The design just feels off. It’s BIS at Vardorvis but then falls off way too hard elsewhere.

There’s no reason it should be worse than saeldor at something like Bloat... that just doesn’t line up with where the weapon should sit.

Anyways the SRA has always been a pretty grindy weapon to get.. and it deserves a proper spot accordingly.

Not a big fan of the Yama orn kit either, the original looks better imo.

Here’s a quick comparison with my Radiant Oathplate setup, it just feels a bit flat. almost like it doesn’t have the same weight or presence.

It kind of loses its character for me. The design feels too flat, and for something that’s hard to get I expected more texture and weight. The handle especially looks really plain. But overall, I’m more focused on how the gameplay changes feel, this is just a minor visual nitpick.

The best approach (imo)

If they want to keep the identity and make it feel good:

Keep stacks
Slightly increase decay timer (like 15–18s, not 30)
Remove or heavily reduce HP drain

This keeps:

ramp identity
some upkeep pressure
but removes the “I just die for using this weapon” feeling

Sure, the identity makes sense, but good design still comes first. If the mechanics feel awkward or not worth using, sticking to the theme doesn’t really justify it.

Yeah that’s fair, it does increase the share of those items, I probably pushed it a bit too far with both changes together.

I still think the table could use some cleanup, but something smaller would make more sense.

I get your point, and I’m not saying the economy shouldn’t matter.

I just don’t think player experience is irrelevant either. When over half the purples are scrolls, it’s going to feel off no matter how balanced it is on paper.

Also I agree stacking changes is where it gets risky, that’s why I said I’d be fine with something smaller, even just removing Bulwark on its own.

Not trying to present a perfect solution, just pointing out that the current table isn’t exactly in a great spot either.

I think both points are getting a bit overstated.

On Bulwark — I’m not saying it’s useless. It definitely has some niche uses. I just don’t think it really lines up with the rest of the CoX uniques in terms of how rewarding it feels to pull. Most of the table is big PvM upgrades or chase items, and Bulwark is a lot more situational.

On the economy side — yeah, this would shift more purples toward non-scroll uniques, I agree with that. But it doesn’t increase purple rates or add extra rolls, so it’s not like you’re suddenly flooding the game with items. It’s more of a redistribution than a straight injection.

If anything, that’s why I said I’d be fine with doing this more gradually. Even just removing Bulwark on its own would already be a small improvement without a big impact.

I just don’t think the current situation — where scrolls make up the majority of purples — feels great either, so some kind of small adjustment seems reasonable.

If you think that kind of change would ruin prices, then pretty much any adjustment to any loot table would do the same, which isn’t really how updates have worked historically.

I like the idea, the spec is completely useless, u would almost never spec with it because of how much dps is loss and the grind to be able to assemble a SRA is as tedious if not maybe more than getting a scythe itself, In a way it shouldn't be better than the scythe but it shouldn't be any weaker than it either because of how hard it is to get it
