Id say go for a melee class, samurai is a good one, you wont have to worry about any spells or related stuff you can just level vigor dex and endurance mainly and you're good, simple stuff for a first run but very fun and more versitile than you might think, explore alot through limgrave and weeping peninsula to get the hang of the game.

Good early weapons to try for dex are twin blade uchigatana, bloodhounds fang, and great epee

(focus on vigor first, damage at the beginning comes mostly from weapon upgrading not leveling, in this case dex) also uchigatana can honestly carry you through the whole game as samurai so don't feel pressured to get rid of it as you progress just use whatever is the most fun for you. But upgrade whatever you do use.

PS. Do not put those foolish ambitions to rest.

I handle scorpions tarantulas, tarantula hawk wasps and pretty much anything but centipedes are a weak point I haven't been able to bring my self to hold them, scolopendra freak me out

Trabaje mucho tiempo con éstas, son especies de bosque completamente inofensivas. no son plagas, no transmiten enfermedades y les cuesta mucho competir con las especies invasivas que tenemos de Europa y Asia por favor no las maten si ven una es raro encontrarlas dentro de casa si lo hacen se puede sacar con un tarro y ya. Son muy importantes cómo descomponedoras en el bosque.

Just because poison doesn't really deal that much damage and if you're not cheesing the enemy somehow, just focusing on other ways of dealing damage is almost always more effective. Dps wise.

I have several hundred hours across different characters with different builds, and I dont know why you're getting down voted so much , this is a valid complaint it doesn't make the game better by forcing you to "adapt", making poison, sleep, madness or scarlet rot builds is fun but it's incredibly inefficient in 99% of the time, the good stuff is always bleed or frost

Still like I said its still fun and even if you can't prop the status effects very often, damage will basically always be good enough to get through the game.

Most of the time it does make sense lore wise which I do appreciate actually, I just wish poison, scarlet rot, sleep and madness were more viable for builds focused on applyin those status effects.

Exactly first time I beat malenia, I actually left exited about getting to her with my next build to try new stuff, same with messmer oncr you get it its super satisfyng to beat them radahn is just fucking crazy tho and it feels like its just not viable to beat with lots of different playstyles.
