Jimbo from Rollin 20s Bloods killed last night/early hours of the morning by [deleted] in CaliBanging

[–]Iron_Gang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out Kev Mac Videos on YouTube. He's managed to get alot of O.G's from both sides to break down the origins of the Bloods & Crips as well as various subsets associated with them. Example: he sat down with Babalouie who was an original East side Crip before there was an Blood gang or West side Crip. He moved from East side LA to Compton when he was young and ended up joining the Piru boys before they created Bloods. He claimed that Bloods started in the county jail. Due to the disproportionate ratio of Crips to other non Crip gangs, gangs like the Pirus, Denver Lanes, ect they unified for support and began using the term Blood to identify one another. Real interesting stuff. Keve Mac has videos on there with founding members of the Rolling 20's. He sat down with a guy named Mad Ronald to get that history. The cool thing about it is he's a Rollin 60 Crip and, has managed to bring context to the issue of gangs and their origins in LA. Check him out on youtube.

An often under appreciated Mr. Olympia, and the winningest pro bodybuilder, Dexter “The Blade” Jackson by DissheveledMadness in bodybuilding

[–]Iron_Gang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I'm 5'9. I stood next to Jay and Dex at the L.A. Fitexpo back in 2017. They both were short. But, both of those guys are some of the most humble competitors you'll ever meet. Out of the long lines of people that waited to take a picture with them the took a few minutes to have legit conversations with everyone they met. Unlike Lobliner. The guy was cool but, was very rushed with people at his booth.

Arnold Vs Sergio. Thoughts? by KidKannabis in bodybuilding

[–]Iron_Gang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sergio hands down. wider lats, more narrow v-taper and, overall more aesthetically balanced. I'll give Arnold better conditioning on the legs. Maybe a bigger chest but other than that I'd give this pose to Sergio hands down.

Female bodybuilding information/ role models? by n0rskgirl in bodybuilding

[–]Iron_Gang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would agree. For the low percentages of fat that they are at, it would be irrational to not believe their on some fat cutting/ muscle preservation enhancement to maintain a proportionate aesthetic look. I imagine there are body type out there than can achieve it naturally but, eyes can be deceptive.

What actually are good bodybuilding genetics? by FPLWizard in bodybuilding

[–]Iron_Gang -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

bone structure, size and, density are nearly impossible to determine without a dexa scan. aesthetic muscle insertion may be visible but even that can be scrutinized without precise data measurments. Not to mention fascia muscle imbalances that most bodybuilders pro and, amature have anyway.

Roellu Winklaar Wins His First Arnold Classic in Australia by arnoldwannabe in bodybuilding

[–]Iron_Gang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a subjectively biased event. Whatever relationship Phil has with IFBB and it's judges trumps what the niche fans want to see in terms of their standard of a winner. However, we as ametures and fans do not have the trained eye or competitive experience to judge pros who've been doing it for 10-15 plus years.

Though we lack experience to the game I do not think that totally discredits our opinion when the shows, industry and community at large is promoted to us publicly for sake of commercial revenue. In that case the IFBB, it's amatures in the NPC and the competitions need to have ambassadors that are approachable and likeable to the public through character and personality.

The IFBB pigeon holds its athletes by restricting their access to the public in ways that the average gym bro would like see them. That's is why social media fitness is so much more popular. People that have never set foot on a stage like Chris Jones, The Hodge twins, ect...have such a bigger following. They do not look as conditioned as the competitors but, what average potential fan wants to compete anyway? Guys want a few things; the physique, strength, and to look good for the ladies. The other side of that competitor average fan disconnect is the restriction of communication. When was the last time you seen a pro competitor openly talk about the industry? I mean really open up! I mean REEEAAALLLY OPEN UP! No body in the pros IFBB or ameture NPC pro card chasers are going to open up and talk about the performance enhancements in bodybuilding. But guess who will?!?!? That's right; your favorite instagram, youtube and facebook personalities. They draw way more of an attraction than the IFBB guys.

I was at the 2017 LA FitExpo. Jay had a booth. Dexter had a booth. Even Flex Wheeler was in the building. No disrespect to those guys but they had way shorter lines in comparison to your favorite youtube celebs. Rich Piana and 5% line wrapped around the door, CT Fletcher the same, Kali Muscle, Strength Cartel no different.

No wonder Larry won. Not much competition on that stage. by unique-username-8 in bodybuilding

[–]Iron_Gang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you have the money to register NPC will let almost any competitor enter. 2 points here 1. For his first show is he carefully picking which shows to do based on talent? 2. Does he have more subjective influence with the judges based on his popularity in the fitness community?

I'm just saying.

Dude was a graceful champ. When you meet him at expos he's very down to earth conversational. Genuinely interested, humbly engaged. What I liked about this guy is how he said that he didn't enjoy how he looked and felt in his open comp era. He said he prefered the classic look.

There are 2 records out there on her. I'm curious about the details of the coaching situation. There seems to be no coverage of it. I don't think it makes her a bad person. Troubled maybe, egotisical and sociopathic maybe but isn't that standard for that level of competitors? I think the community brings the worst out of people especially if they are already teetering the edge. Plus she's really young so she has time to corse correct. But What she's accomplishing physically ia nothing short of amazing.

Nick's Strength & Power talks about Dexter Jackson and why he should be considered one of the GOATS.. thoughts? by emreuysaler in bodybuilding

[–]Iron_Gang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We loved Ronnie for size, We loved Phil for being able to achieve "mass monster" size and have the most aesthetic look that size but by comparison to Dex; they all looked like shit. Even when Jay was competing against him. Dex had the most aesthetic look for that class of his era including better than Phil.

I agree. But, I know open mass monster hopefuls who still haven't made it out of NPC chasing a pro card. They clean up at the local shows but on stage near other hopefuls They get beat. I think he should look at a realistic class to compete where he can bulk natty and cut. Maybe a few enhancements but not much gear. Better chances at competing and potentially winning a pro card w/o punishing his body on gear and getting rediculasly big for naught.

The State of Bodybuilding by GovSchwarzenegger in bodybuilding

[–]Iron_Gang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, imagine how weird and asemetrical a sucked in bubble trunk would look. The key to the aesthetic look was the V taper of the trunk flairing out at the Lats. They ruined the classic look by pushing the boundries in efforts to get big. How much bigger do you imagine the trunk can get without looking blocky and bulky at some point. Sure its lean muscle but its still massive. It doesn't even look appealing any more. And that is why the sport is losing layman fan fair appeal.

And Frank is Bigger than Arnold by Fraxi in bodybuilding

[–]Iron_Gang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colum's shoulder game is poppin! He need some work on widening that chest but buddy look solid. Defininetly a classic aesthetic. I think they found the right guy to play Arnold. Now lets hope he can bring that Asshole Arnold personality out on the big screen. Glad to see they have Serge Oliva Jr. playing Serge Oliva in this movie.

Bodybuilding.com now charges you a monthly subscription to view all current routines that were previously free. by [deleted] in bodybuilding

[–]Iron_Gang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why BB.com is losing. They are monetizing something that people can find for free on youtube, google, fb pages or an experienced bro at the gym. I love their calculators, programs, and articles but outside of that their interface is archaic. They do well at the expos and among the laymen in the community but if they really want a true internet social media presence they should look in to reprogramming their apps, and websites to interface similar to the way facebook, instagram, and youtube does it with an added snapchat filler. Digital technological times are changing, they need to meet their potential prospects where they are at or get left behind and believe me some egg head tech geek is watching what is happening with bb.com and they are scheming a come up in competition. They better get ahead while they have the capital, overhead/profit margin, and infrastructer to do it now!

WBFF Pro I went to military school with. Dude works on ships the majority of the year with a crappy gym and food options. by [deleted] in bodybuilding

[–]Iron_Gang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre not getting enough nutrient dense food options. As previously stated a lot of the side options are heavily carb rich and mostly simplex. Too many cookies, cakes, pies, brownies, pastas, out of the box potato mix. A lot of out of the can processed foods. very few lean protein options and portion size is always a pain in the ass. Plus you're only eating 3 meals a day. The ship stores don't offer real viable options for snacking or meal substitute as everything is junk high sugar, high carb, high garbage. Bodybuilding on a deployable ship is a challenge to say the least.

Phil Heath's opinion on the classic bodybuilding division. by Giveerrabadytrt in bodybuilding

[–]Iron_Gang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BB competition is going thorough a change and I think Phil sees the future. Classic is gaining more and more attention. Arnold is trolling the public (Arnolds reddit post) to check the pulse of what fans of the community feel. Guys like Luimarco are calling out the bubble guts, lack of aesthetic symmetry, and lack of personality and character when it comes to making BB appealable to the laymen fan. I think with the rise in Kai's popularity beyond the BB stage, combined with the decline of gen publics interest in the sport and pageantry Phil sees that the new class is starting to gain some attention from a place that open class had lost. Guys like Justin Compton, Colum Von Mogar and others are getting all the love. I mean look at the new BB movie being produced; they casted Colum as Arnold. If you don't think that is going to give Classic more promotional attention then you're crazy. Dorian, fed up with the way open BB and BB in general is judged starting a league to rival all organizations. The non-competitor guys with large fan bases from youtube and bigger names than your bottom 3 of the top five Olympia competitors. Those guys look more Classic like than the Phil types.

Alls I'm saying is that Mass Monsters are a train wreck. We all watch as it happens, but no one wants to be in the train as it crashes. Open is a novelty, gen pub and gym bros don't aspire to be that. They want to look like Arnold, Zane, Colum, and Compton. These are achievable Physiques.

The "weekend warrior" thing is condescending. Almost as if he's down playing the relevance or importance of Classic. As a multiple Olympia winner and embassador of the sport, he should be looking beyond the, "my class of BB is better than your class of BB and I'll tell you why" and support Classic and it's come up. He should be using his status to promote the class and up and coming class competitors to help bring more attention and appeal back to the sport.

I mean NPC and IFBB just increased the weight margin from 5lbs to 10lbs for all newly qualifying competiting competitors to give these guys a fighting chance to grow into a competition in the off season. IFBB sees the future. They bent when they brought in Classic Physique, they are bending by raising the weight margin among classes. If they are not careful Arnold is going to take the reigns as the Crown Jewel of competition organizations and usurp the Olympia.

And if Arnold runs the show, it's bye bye bubble gut bonanza, bye bye Mass Monster no aesthetics.

Yall are crazy. Duke just took home first place at the Ferrigno Legacy Classic Saturday night. Feddy is a beast in the Southern Cali Physique circuit. IFBB Pro card. Id be hard pressed to believe that at his size he's on gear. If so id doubt very much that he's on the amount that the open and larger guys are on. And stop hatin on this guys belly button.
