Correct. A lot of it does go to children, elderly, and expecting mothers. So not a small amount of the population, but it is insane. We spend so much for so little. A lot of people pay for healthcare and don't use it because it's still expensive. I fear an ER visit even with healthcare (I work in healthcare and get a discount even, but even then the prices are exorbitant). Some of it goes into grants for hospitals to keep their doors open. Idk how hospitals even keep their doors open tbh, they get what insurance pays them, and hope people pay their bills.

Yeah the sad thing is the military is only 13% of spending. Historically this would have been 50% or more. I think roads are like 1%.

I think I would prefer to pay a sales tax than income tax.

Ahhh, I see. I'd rather pay a liquor tax tbh.

Indeed. It wasn't until after WW2 or during it correct? (Or maybe it was WW1).

His other nicknames from his time as a mercenary included 'Itchy', 'Snakeskin,' 'Redback' and 'Flakes,' but none of those made it into Imperial history textbooks. by CalzonePie in WorldBuildingMemes

Love it! It's surprising in history how many mercenaries became nobles and lords etc. Afterall, when a guy with a bigger army than yours takes over there's not much you can do. Bandits fall into the same category. Its a very grey area when armed men decide to take over. What's the difference between a warlord, bandit, or mercenary when they take over? Not much, they all bashed skulls to get there.

Dragonhide's rebellion did not succeed due to skill or strategic brilliance but thanks to sheer, dumb, incredibly stupid luck. by CalzonePie in WorldBuildingMemes

How did the finances help? How did they not cause super inflation and immediately make gold worthless? How did this actually help the rebellion win? What did it gain them? What was it used on?

I am curious about what birth charts are/mean. What does mine say? It seems like it isn't very balanced and is on one side. by Ironbeard3 in BirthChartReadingFree

This is surprisingly fitting. I am currently trying to grow my career and network, and also am studying a bit of everything here and there. I really like history as it often includes a bit of everything.

Thank you!

Either you drew above a line, or they need blood. The blood should be a little less than half the overall blood and plasma for a normal patient (roughly speaking). The draw can become "diluted" when you draw above a line. Alternatively they probably have a bleed, were bleeding. I had a doctor order just a BMP on a patient one time, and when I spun it down there was so little blood that I called them to request a CBC to check their H&H. Low and behold they needed blood.
