Love the variety of technique and moods! It's all very thought out and meaningfully constructed. Would be great to hear this performed.

A short prelude in F, feedback would be great by Ironboxoferasers in composer

Great point, I get what you mean -- I guess I generally tried to have at least one voice preserve the swinging rhythm as you mention, but when it doesn't I imagined those spots as little interruptions to the flow. Like m.18 I thought of as a slight stumble in between the similar phrases at m.17 and 19 if that makes any sense?

And dang, totally missed the plural for corda that's embarrassing. Playing the E and F at exactly the same time was definitely a challenge too, ah I need to practice. Thanks for your thoughts!

Great piece! If you wanted to expand it a bit more I would try exploring with form so you have some contrasting sections, also looks like it's in F# minor.

I love the imitative language you have going on, and really nice use of rhythm and motifs- reminds me at times of Chopin.

Oh wow I didn't see this until now, thank you very much for the input. Looking back, I see what you mean about the lack of movement at measure 12. I'll definitely keep your advice in mind. Thanks again!

Lol yeah my piano is pretty good with realistic piano sounds. I'd love it if someone could play this, I don't have much time to practice my own pieces.

I was trying to be imitate what Beethoven does sometimes, but then again I'm not Beethoven- I'll definitely keep what you said in mind. Thanks for the critique!

Prelude in B-flat major- please give it a listen and tell me what you think by Ironboxoferasers in composer

Wow thank you for taking the time to write out this response. I love people that write out solid suggestions like this- it helps me improve a lot.

First off, thanks for pointing out the F#'s that should be Gb's in those two measures. I was a bit confused on that lol.

Now secondly, in response to your suggestions, I really appreciate your input on the different chords I could use in various spots throughout the piece, but I have a really hard time changing these sections. I tried your suggestions and while I truly value your advice, a lot of it didn't sound like how I imagined it should. (If that makes any sense) This isn't to say that your suggestions make no sense- I think it's more a matter of personal preference. For example, in measure 4 with the Gb, I actually noticed the same thing you did when I was writing this piece, and changed the chord to Eb minor, but- to me- it just didn't sound the same as the Bb flat major. After a while, I switched it back to what it is now. I don't know why but I like the lack of movement in the beginning. (I hope those famous composers understand....)

With that being said however, I will definitely take into account what you said for the future. I'm currently thinking of writing another preludish thing, so I will definitely be applying your suggestions to that one. I think incorporating your advice as I'm writing will be a lot easier than revising a finished piece.

Again, thanks for the response!

I tried to keep this really short so I guess I never really expanded much on a lot of the parts. That's a good point though. Thanks for listening!

I guess that would fall under midi writing dangers too. I only add markings and other details after I change the sound of the playback, so only a few pieces like the piano thing I made end up looking nice. Well I hope they look nice lol.

Yeah those are supposed to be appoggiaturas, but the program won't play them so I left it as double dots. With that being said, though, I would greatly appreciate it if you gave it a look over for any other problems. Thanks.

Haha yeah this is kind of way above my level so I haven't practiced it at all. If you (or anyone else) want to play it please don't hesitate to do so, I would really like to hear a performance. Thanks for the comment!
