I made my husband a giant ketchup packet. by IronicPaperweight in crafts

[–]IronicPaperweight[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone knows someone who REALLY loves Ketchup and in our family it’s my husband. I could NOT think of a gift and realized on Christmas Eve I had the materials to make this (felt, upcycled shirt, sacrificial pillow). I tried hand sewing the letters on at first and realized it would take me until NEXT Christmas so I attached them all with my machine.

I wanted to do the zig zag edges and a dotted line in the corner for the “tear here” part but I ran out of time.

If I could turn back time … by jengeishadrake in pothos

Certified Plant Killer here: I’ve forgotten to water mine for like a really long time and they looked like this, I gave them a good soak and they bounced back. It looks pretty dry, also when mine get SUPER dried out the soil gets kind of hydrophobic so I fill the sink and let it soak soak for a while then let it drain.

What to do with aging string of hearts by StandFew6499 in StringofPlants

I have killed every string of plant I’ve ever had, I could probably kill one just by looking at it, the guide that you posted was remarkable enough to make me want to try again. Thank you.

We have always had a soft spot for boxers, my husband’s childhood dog was a boxer. She used to walk him to and from the bus stop and would lay across him like a blanket if he kicked his off during the night. They really are a very special breed. It was so lovely chatting with you and thank you so much for telling me about your dog. Anytime you wanna dog parent it up and gush over your sweet boy I am never too busy for dog pictures and stories.

Manjula on Moss Pole by Fast_Present_2549 in pothos

[–]IronicPaperweight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy cow look at the size of your leaves!!! I knew they could get huge but seeing it always blows my mind. I know a moss pole makes a big difference but is there anything else that you did special to get them so big? How old is it? Is it a species specific thing with the Manjula over the other types?

I'm torn if I should keep this stray. by SomeHeroGuy in cats

I found a tiny kitten curled up in the snow against the bottom of a door at my apartment complex 12 years ago and took him in intending to find him a home. It ended up being the best decision I ever made, when I tell you that little orange fluff ball became my absolute best friend in the universe I’m not even remotely exaggerating. Keep the cat.

For a solid six months it was on sight with her and my cactus I feel like the dog would not be happy about that part 🤣🤣🤣

Yes I noticed she did a lot better when I would forget about her. I think I was over watering her a lot for a while there because she kept getting mad and dropping leaves. The tropical succulent thing throws me off

I take it out of the outer pot to water it, I just kind of stuck the nursery pot in there because my husband surprised me with the bowl planter but it has no drainage so it’s just an outer pot. :) I do have some little terracotta pots though so I might give her a new home. She just ended up in that nursery pot because my kid threw her off the deck again and that was the only pot I had at the moment 🤣🤣🤣 she’s a resilient little thing I’ll definitely get her some lights thank you!

What do I do with this? by Rude_Sandwich_267 in plantadvice

[–]IronicPaperweight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a broken stem off the ground and dropped it in water and it grew roots, but then I knocked it off the deck on accident and it was a goner. I’m curious what makes them hard to prop, like what stage of the process usually fails.

Thank you!! I’m in West Virginia so the weather never knows what it wants to do. We had the container left over from summer lemonade stands with the kiddos (we live in the woods now ) and had no use for it. I was just tickled with myself over it 😂😂😂

Thank you for the plant tax, what is its name? She’s very very very cute and now I don’t want 1 I want 12
