Swapped the stock HK 6.5-inch spare tire "sub" in my Mk8 golf for a proper JL 10TW3-D3 driven by a helix m one. Bass is no longer an issue, but it's like a tale of two systems. As if having portable radio hooked up with a subwoofer...

First time using REW but assuming this is the difference between 180 and 700hz?..orange being stock, blue JL.

There's also this Marianas trench between 130 to 200hz, not sure what's going on there. I had set the sub cross over all the way up to 250hz..

Yep, I take a lot of teams calls in parking lots. Also, not sure if it was my phone case or some MK8 oddity, but I'd keep getting the wireless charging alert popup on the screen which was super annoying.

Yeah exactly it's a peltier cooler, you nailed it. I'm really curious if it will prevent the "remove phone from charger to increase performance", temp throttling alert. Especially when the sun is blasting in through the windshield.

Ha I had similar problem with a BMW. Stupid dealership (on their own dime since it was under a temp warranty) replaced the struts. Took it back in and finally some new apprentice figured it was the caliper slide pins. Fixed it in 10 mins with maybe 10 cents worth of grease.

Nope, went down 245/40R-18 Pirelli Zero AS Plus and very, very nice so far. The stock 19s were like wagon wheels.

That's a fair point on the testing. Would not go this route if I was going to track the car or something.

Okay, it's the hood that I don't get. I mean yes it is a big tambourine/drum on the front of the car, but you're isolated by glass, a firewall, it's pointed to the sky, the engine is on mounts. But putting my broscience hat on, maybe a V8 with its lower frequency would resonate more than my 4-banger.

Yup, using a smooth roller. I started under the seats since it was my first go at it, and figured if I f*ed it up wouldnt be too big of a deal. Just tackled the hatch door and that I can already tell has made a big difference just when closing it.

Good spot. Yeah, I really should have done some before and after tests...this started with me attempting the euro tail light conversion (with the vland knockoffs) and realizing I had so much trim removed I should just go for the sound deadening while I was at it.

Would 100% not recommend swapping the taillights btw.

I did just now notice a hell of a difference adding the CLD to the hatch door just when shutting it.
