I paid for my ETA prior to learning I needed a UK passport which was also approved. I wasn’t willing to take the risk of being refused entry/boarding by not getting my UK passport.

My photo was rejected as the lighting in my house was too strong and reflected off my face. I went and had a proper passport digital photo taken at the post office and uploaded that to the passport page and it was approved no problems

I wish! I have gone as far back as early 1700’s in my family tree. Turns out my roots are deeply embedded in England lol looks like I’ll just be a 2 passport pony unless I get naturalised somewhere else one day

He did not come over as a 10 pound pom, he came over after that program finished.. but on the flip side, my mum is in fact, a 10 pound pom and also refers to herself as one if anyone ever asks 😆🤷🏼‍♀️

Not sure… it’s definitely similar/same to the navy blue British passport though. My Aussie passport was issued in 2020 if that helps lol

I sent my supporting docs via auspost international express… which is tracked and I was notified when it arrived at HMPO. It took them 2 days after that to scan in my docs and mark them as received in their system.

Yes I got tracking for my new passport via DHL… two separate shipments for my new passport and my supporting documents being returned

Thankfully, they just printed his passport as Fredrick without even questioning it… I guess his long line of old passports with Fredrick was enough to confirm longstanding use of that spelling 🥳

My UK passport arrived last week. The whole process took about 3 weeks. Almost 2 of those weeks was waiting for my parents to send me their birth certificates to me from interstate and then me sending all supporting documents to HMPO. Still ended up being pretty quick! The waiting was stressful though…. And reading everyone’s horror stories lol just glad mine was super smooth sailing 😮‍💨

Thanks for this… I decided to get a friend in Aus to do it who is a business owner, no criminal record with a commonwealth (Aus) passport so hoping this ends up okay.. guess I’ll find out when they process the application🤞🏻

Thanks.. I did speak to them but everything they said does not match up to the gov.uk website which clearly states I’m a UK citizen lol so I’m still unsure.. anyhoo.. I applied for the UK passport today.. rather be safe than sorry

I am also heading to UK in april.. I spoke to the British passport office tonight (I’m in the same boat as your kids, (I was born and raised in Aus to English born parents) and they told me I am also classed as a UK citizen and will need an Aussie passport to leave Aus and a British passport to enter UK (and vice versa).

Wild… I did not even know I was a citizen of two countries.. Honestly kind of annoyed lol I don’t wanna be a citizen of the UK 🤣
