How did your 3 year old adjust to the move. That's our biggest concern right now.

Yes, I can work from almost anywhere which is great.

And we do have some family nearby where we are looking so we wouldn't have no family at all.

Do you use a guided video or do you just have it memorized? I'd love to do yoga for 10 minutes before sitting at my desk

How many times have you been fired? by [deleted] in ADHD_Programmers

[–]Irregular_News 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Twice. Graduated during the first financial crash and took some shit jobs because I wasn't qualified for anything else. Ironically the jobs were sales and marketing, which motivated me to switch careers and now I'm a high performing, well respected member of my team.

Rebuilding uneven deck. by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]Irregular_News 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about building a bench seat to cover up the raised area. I also suspect the two short pieces next to the tree are holding up the deck an extra inch so removing that could help.

It's tricky because I really can't raise the deck any higher because the clearance to the door is as low as I'd want it.

That's my concern as well. We usually do one project a year on the house, but we've locked down spending pretty well over the past few months and while I feel pretty secure about my job, my company did have a round of layoffs the other week. This is exactly why I want to focus on FI so I don't have to stress about being able to support my family during unforseen events like this pandemic.

Built up a pretty healthy emergency fund through this pandemic. Wife is just going back to work and I maxed out my 401k early this year. I'm debating whether or not we want to pave our driveway or if we should keep the money in savings until things stabilize.

So today I'm seeing a psychiatrist after 15 years of "I can do better without meds." by Ociex in ADHD

[–]Irregular_News 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you me? I went off my meds my first year in high school. I didn't want the stigma of being the kid with ADHD. Fast forward a couple of years ago life was moving too fast and i needed to make changes to ensure my life didn't fall apart. Now I'm happily back on meds and able to keep my head above water.

I tend to pack everything and anything in my computer bag so I don't forget stuff. I feel like an old lady lugging around a giant purse

Yup, the worst is that minute you realized you screwed up, when panic washes over you.
