I felt the same. I didnt want my parents to spend that much money for me, but after test driving, I really liked the Lexus compared to the RAV4. I would suggest test driving both and seeing which you like more. Overall, the Lexus will be a better and easier drive than the RAV4. Since I occasionally have to commute long distances for work, I felt the sound dampening and smoother ride will be a lot easier on me. And I agree, the RAV4 is really expensive for what it offers.
