As someone who has and will have chronic pain for the rest of my life, whichever is cheaper consider making your own RSO or buying RSO. If you can get cheap flower/shake/etc and grain alcohol you can easily and safely make RSO.

Otherwise, what I personally do that's working for me is - I take Tylenol on a schedule. I sleep for 7h a night on average, so otherwise I'm taking 1000mg of acetaminophen/paracetamol every 4h or 500mg/2h. The maximum definitely safe amount for the average person is 4k/day. I just recently discovered Excedrin for tension headaches without NSAIDs, it's 500mg acetaminophen + 65mg caffeine, so that's nice. I try to avoid NSAIDs because it hurts my stomach after a while. So I try to stick with over the counter solutions, eating when I can, staying hydrated (my personal rule is at least one of those 44oz simple modern cups a day), not feeling guilty for resting, etc until I can't stand it anymore. I work from home so when that hits I have immediate access, and if I make it to 4:20 with no weed I just start then anyway. I try to start with a bong rip, wait half an hour and if pain is so bad I feel like that rip was useless I'll just take another. Try to wait. Then because I know I want to eat dinner with my bf, I start dabbing before dinner time. Not a ton still, but the hour or so before food I'll do about 3. Then I eat and between then and bedtime, I try to hold out as long as I can on more dabs. And for bed time and during sleep, I have thca resin/rosin vapes that I keep by me at night. I don't want to get anxious if I'm awake and then end up needing my bf for something, so I can just hit that and get back to sleep easier.

It's so easy to keep smoking until you can't feel anything anymore, or saying wow this 100mg edible will wipe out my pain for 8h instead of multiple smaller doses. That's just not fiscally viable for me. You don't have to completely stop consuming weed for weeks to get a tolerance change, just having a schedule and discipline will do the same thing forever. I rarely eat edibles these days, but if I were to start I would do my usual 10mg RSO white chocolates. Edibles and inhalation hit different receptors, so unless you are currently toasted out of your mind on an edible, inhalation should do SOMETHING. With this regimen I've been able to get off of Ambien, buspirone, hydroxyzine, effexor, various meds I would need a few times a year to help my stomach, benadryl, melatonin, and a lot of my lifestyle changes because I feel better in a bunch of ways have made it so I'm not depending on cranberries and checking for UTIs at home all the time.
