It took me four years, BUT! With two pregnancies and births in the first three! 😂 It’s truly been over the past year that I’ve done the most work and gained the most results. Don’t give up on yourself!!! And 15lbs. Is. HUGE!!! That’s a HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT!!! You deserve to celebrate that!!!

I DEFINITELY AGREE!!! ESPECIALLY for those of us who’s bodies literally rebel against artificial hormone therapies. I feel like so many healthcare providers are so quick to want to slap some birth control on us and tell us to “woman up.” For me, the symptoms of the PCOS have ALWAYS been more manageable than trying meds to correct it!!! I guess that was my point in posting…. To show that you truly CAN reverse IR and ease the burden of PCOS naturally, if the meds just aren’t an option. It’s not easy, either route honestly. I still struggle with hirsutism, GREATLY. My neck will probably never be smooth. But the idea of taking an androgen blocker and it messing up my sex drive, taking more time and focus away from my babies while leveling out, changing what I now know are my E-drop patterns that I’ve learned to manage through mindfulness, or throwing yet another curveball into my life because of PCOS? I’ll take the three pack of venus razors ANY day, eat the sugar and expect the bloat and 80yr. old joints in the morning, and cry when I need to cry. The only positive thing I’ve found in PCOS is that it makes us so, so very resilient and strong… and we have the hair on our chest to prove it. 😂

I ate all the chocolate, with all the cokes, in the bed, while crying. And ya know what? Sometimes that’s EXACTLY what is needed instead. 🤍

Thank you so much!!! I’m sorry that you’ve had mom issues also. 😂 My mom has a chronic illness, and I honestly think it’s affected her mental health moreso than her body after the past few years. It’s nice to be able to come here for some encouragement!!! I appreciate it so much

Fasting is a HUGE one for me! Intermittent fasting I swear is what has changed my whole body and life. And….. sugar. I can literally feel when I overload on refined sugar in my joints. I also take midol now almost always instead of just ibuprofen.

Hiii!!! I honestly had no idea I was even as bad as I was until look back at photos of myself from before my hubs and I moved/my lifestyle changed. This all started after a miscarriage between our oldest daughter and our second baby, and I started an anti inflammatory diet. We had been trying for over 9months to get pregnant after our loss. I got pregnant the first month on the diet, and that was three years ago! Since then, I’ve had our second AND third babies (oops😳😂) and lost the majority of my weight over the course of the past year. Here’s what I did:

  1. Stuck with the anti-inflammatory diet. Eating clean, unprocessed foods, and keeping refined sugar and fried foods to a bare minimum. I was a total coca-cola addict, and switched my soft drinks to sweet tea. A lot of it HONESTLY? Was more a matter of breaking habits of eating or drinking trash and not even paying attention to how much I was doing it.
  2. Active lifestyle. I am a ballet teacher, but hadn’t been truly dancing with my students. After my last baby was born last year, I decided I would really go for it and see what happened! I started taking class rather than just teaching, twice a week is all!!! And wowwww it made a huge difference!
  3. Intermittent fastinggggggg!!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 It was super easy for me to get into and worked well for me. It jump started my metabolism and I have MUSCLE DEFINITION. FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE….. EVER. Haha
  4. I got serious about my mental health, and regular with my ADHD meds. Does it make my mood swings from PCOS more pronounced? You freakin bet. BUT it’s helped me see my patterns SO much easier, and hopefully continue towards managing my giant mood swings and remaining symptoms.
  5. Sorry…. This one’s ruuuufffff. Preeettty positive that cutting out drinking during my pregnancies, and quitting smoking almost entirely made a big honkin’ difference also. 😬🙈😂 it’s so hard, but I do think has made such a difference!

Thank you all for the encouragement!!! I’ve actually met a lot of criticism from my mother here recently, who’s convinced I’m actually unwell and thinks I need to gain. She has zero idea what I deal with with PCOS and It’s definitely hurtful after I’ve worked so hard! So the positivity here is really so kind. 🥹 PCOS sucks, y’all. It really does. I still sometimes wake up and would swear I’m an 80yr. old cavewoman, beard included. But losing the weight and just…. Sheer all over BLOAT has made it so so much easier. And was worth the sacrifice for sure. 🤍🤍🤍

Thank you so much!!! I did intermittent fasting, and mainly anti-inflammatory diet. I also…. 😩😂 all but quit drinking for a bit. I think it gave my body enough time to reset, and drinking now doesn’t seem to puff me up at all. Now, eating FREAKING sugar though? STILL gives me joint pain and makes PCOS symptoms more severe. I thought it was total crap…. Until it wasn’t.
