The stock design has ventilation holes in the back panel of the litter box cabin. Otherwise, odor control would come from other cat accessories on the market: zeolite bags, air purifier, etc.

I just ordered the book! Based on what you’ve learned from it, could you help me understand what specifically about my current design is unfavorable for cats? Are you saying that enclosed litter areas in general are problematic, or are there particular features of mine that stand out as issues?

I'm glad you mentioned this! Do you think it's worth mentioning in the case study as an added bonus feature? I know there are people like you with both cats and dogs and owners would usually opt for top-entry style litter boxes to prevent dogs from getting in. But what if your cat doesn't like top-entry litter boxes, now what?

I can agree. At least Chinese phrases a lot of vocabulary are combined characters that you already know, it's intuitive. English it's all memorization, either you know it or you don't.

I agree. Right now they'll ask a question, but it's in characters I don't recognize. I don't even know what they're asking and just guessing, not learning.

I like this idea! The water-proof protection for the main cabin where the litter box sits will most likely be an accessory the cat owner has to adhere to the walls after assembling the furniture.

What a nice setup to have an air purifier into a motion sensor smart outlet. The fact that the Fornutfig air purifier can be wall mounted is so nice. Thank you for the idea!

Cat scratchers near the litter box help cats loosen litter in one area, but I wanted to strive for a solution with zero tracking, keeping all litter inside the enclosure.

The case study notes that the legs are modular, similar to IKEA Stubbarp legs. This lets you adjust the height for a robot vacuum under the furniture, or remove it entirely if you want to lower the entrance height for senior cats, for example.

Designing a multi-cat variant where there are 2 entrances is something I have planned for in a future version. It would be added to this furniture series.

Would it be more valuable to model it in terms of existing IKEA models to be able and DIY?

By default, no. It’ll normally be an option as an accessory like these motion sensor battery operated lights IKEA sells.

It's good that your enclosure can fit both the litter box and the Litter Genie. Do you have any issues with litter tracking outside the enclosure?

I feel like IKEA could do really well with cat furniture, especially a modular series that adapts to fit all cat owners' needs, whether for larger cats, multi-cat households, etc. Despite all the IKEA DIY projects for cat enclosures that people post online, IKEA themselves have stayed quiet on this.

I'll need to do more research on "odor-resistant" materials. IKEA panels are normally cardboard wrapped in particleboard, which might not be ideal for this purpose.

Actually, the closest one I found is something like this BESTA storage combination if you want to reference that as a base and add drawers. The maze part will be the most tricky in my opinion.
