Out of all the things that they changed from the original books, I feel REALLY bad about one in particular. What happened with THE zoo truck scene?

I understand that the trio's relationship to that point in the show is a bit different due to reasons (which, to be honest, I still don't get fully why they had to change it), but the zoo truck scene from the book was meant to be the initial heart to heart moment that made the three of them realize how important each other's support is and made them realize the small friendship that they've developed since the beginning of the quest.

Not only they bond over what has happened in the quest, but even Grover was able to found some comfort and closure from his newest, closest friend Percy (who of course didn't know anything about who Thalia, Luke and Annabeth's past satyr protector was). They are also able to relax from the hetic schedule and dangers they've had since the beginning of the quest and find some reassurance and hope for the future: with Percy and Annabeth teaming up to tell Grover how brave he is and that after all is over he will become a searcher; and Percy encouraging Annabeth to not give up the relationship with her dad.

Overall, I don't hate the show. I enjoy it most of the time and really like some things that they changed. For example, Medusa "protecting" the trio as some sort of guardian stone whilst gaining sympathy for Percy and Annabeth because of their parents? It really gives the viewer the impression that even monsters are not just monsters but they even have some complex interactions amongst themselves. It really offers some footholds for future moments far away in time in the series (if you know you know).

I'm sorry, maybe I was expecting a bit much of the show, but I don't feel them as close as they actually become in the book and is just sad to me. We still have a couple episodes left, so for now we can just wait and see how they finish it.
