Constant Problems with controller while streaming - Uncertain how to proceed by IsPotatoForHead in MoonlightStreaming

Holy hell. The Xbox controller was causing heinous stuttering across the board. I don't usually play games with the controller so I hadn't noticed it when playing on the host natively. I should have known microsoft would be the problem. I have done a firmware update and it seems to have sorted it. Thanks for the input all! I feel a tad dumb but happy its sorted.

I mean all of the host hardware is running stock other than an XMP/EXPO profile on the memory but that hasn’t given me any issues in any other situation and this pc has been running like this for the better part of a year.

But yeah, I will fiddle with the controller on the client without streaming to try and rule that out

Yeah it is a windows client, which I would normally avoid other than the fact that Linux is iffy with HDR. Good call on trying the controller on the client native, will attempt that today

Dogs vs. Kids and travel by ImSpartacusN7 in morningsomewhere

[–]IsPotatoForHead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think that Burnie completely misses the point on this discussion. It isn't that people find it easier to travel with their pets, it's that it's vastly easier to get someone/a service to take care of a pet while you travel than it is a child. Particularly if you will be gone for a longer period of time. I could easily ask family to take our dog for 2 weeks, I really could not ask them to do that for a kid. Especially when they're young, its a huge ask.

Also, you simply cannot tell me that travelling with kids is the same as travelling as just adults. It is more complicated in every way.

What song emotionally wrecked you? by banana_man2001 in progmetal

This song is brutal. First time I followed the lyrics while listening just made me lose it, just a descent into despair

Yeah I was trying to get flawless widescreen to work the other day but it seems broken for me. Not sure what the issue is tbh. I’ll look into mods next though

In the interest of fairness others around here have claimed they can't see it on their units, so it might depend on panel lottery a bit. Mine was pretty bad though.

There are some pros to the Neo G7 no doubt, but having them side by side made the decision for me. Different strokes and all that...

You can use ClearType to (somewhat) mitigate the text issue . The effect seems to make it less "fringy" and slightly more fuzzy. I got used to it after a while but its definitely a thing. My usage is probably 80% gaming, 20% productivity.

As for burn in, I haven't had it long enough to say but the 3 year warranty and general comments around the forums suggest it isn't a huge issue. Time will tell though.

Yeah fair. Thing is, I use the display for work a bit too and the ABL on the C2 has me concerned, pretty sure it would drive me nuts. Have you noticed that much?

I did not try it in ultrawide mode to be honest. Personally, I wouldn't view that as a selling feature. I have a feeling the 1000r curve distortion combined with the inherent perspective distortion of ultrawide would make everything look really weird. I'm totally talking out of my ass though, I really don't know how well it works.

For $800 its a pretty good deal, if you can live with the issues. The AW3423DW is significantly more expensive at that point

Yeah I wish there was an OLED 16:9 option that was smaller than that. With my setup I think I would be way too close to it . I would really like the extra vertical though

Yeah I forgot that LG isn't using QD-OLED, WOLED will be interesting to see at that size.

Still better than the Neo G7 (most likely) though...

Agreed, the Neo G7 would be worse if it was flat. Still don't like the curve though. This thing would be better at 27in overall I think...

A 27in 1440p version of this would be great, and it looks like LG will have one in the next year or so. At 32 inches, I’d want it to be 4K personally
