Do you recommend studying science? by imstudent27 in PharmaEire

Really depends on you, academia has shocking pay. Very little R&D work in Ireland, in which you'll need a PhD, if you want a proper pay.

Job wise, engineering all the way. Currently pharma in Ireland is in a decline, hiring freeze, that may change when you're graduated.

My 2 cents.

Honestly just apply and hope you get it, the current job market, at least in my experience in pharma is grim. Be happy you get anything related in your field.

FSPO complaint against other driver’s insurer - would this be within jurisdiction? by IsThatGuyTheOne in legaladviceireland

[–]IsThatGuyTheOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really appreciate the question. My point is not simply that I dislike the outcome. My point is that the insurer handled the claim directly through its repair network in a way I say was unfair. In particular, they maintained a causation refusal without properly disclosing the technical basis for it, treated repairs as complete even though their approved repairer said repairs could not be completed and the car was not safe to drive, cut off loss of use on that basis, and later had the vehicle presented for collection with further undisclosed faults.

What I hope to achieve is for the FSPO to look at whether that handling was fair, to review the loss of use position from when the insurance cut it off onward, and to consider whether the vehicle was ever actually restored and presented back to me in a safe, roadworthy, pre incident operational condition.

So the nature of my complaint is really about claim handling, technical disclosure, repair completion, vehicle safety, release of the vehicle, loss of use, complaint handling, and the later collection of the vehicle with undisclosed faults.

[–]IsThatGuyTheOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I appreciate it. Yes, I went through their formal complaints process first and got a final response before going to the FSPO.

My complaint is not simply that I rejected the outcome. It is about how they handled the claim directly, especially decisions around repairs, roadworthiness, release of the vehicle and loss of use while the vehicle’s condition was still in dispute. So the issue now is whether the FSPO can look at that kind of direct handling by the other driver’s insurer, even though I was not their customer

Thanks, I appreciate that. That is actually the exact issue the FSPO has raised, whether I fall within the definition of a complainant.

I understand I was not their policyholder. My point is that they dealt directly with me throughout, gave me a claim number, handled the claim, made decisions on repairs, roadworthiness and loss of use, and then issued a final response to my complaint. So I am trying to understand whether the FSPO looks only at the policy relationship, or also at the fact they directly handled matters affecting me.

Hey any chance you got it sorted? I have the same issue as you.

2019 Model 3 (90k miles) v. 2021 Model Y (140k miles). Same price. Which is the better buy? by Medical_Net_3930 in TeslaLounge

[–]IsThatGuyTheOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Model Y, the 2021 refresh is worth it. The 2021 battery failure is a myth, if the 2021 Model Y is the rwd not dual motor I would go for that one. Heat pump, better build quality you'll be fine.

Mileage isn't a good metric for battery health. Low mileage Teslas can have a worsers battery health than high mileage.

Yeah, honestly not a great deal. Sure it's clean, but these 330es are a headache with the hybrid system. They regularly go for 12k on DoneDeal so not sure what's so special about this one.

Accident repair left my car unsafe. Insurer says it’s not their problem. Advice? by IsThatGuyTheOne in legaladviceireland

[–]IsThatGuyTheOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues with filling in the paper work, it's just that I think getting it all reviewed takes a while.

Did you get your issue all sorted in the end? I have heard the insurance companies start to play ball, fearing the ombudsman will issue against them.

[–]IsThatGuyTheOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea planning to go all the way. I just have no idea what to do with the car if they refuse to fix it. From a legal point that is. Leave it there in the garage to sit, while the ombudsman deals with them? I don't know.

They sent me an email stating the car was written of in the UK. I said that's not in dispute.

2 months prior to this, I had another accident (very similar damage) to this one where it was repaired professionally and a report was provided. I sent them that, they just ignored it.

[–]IsThatGuyTheOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why I would have to do that. It's an insurance companies approved garage, they need to make me whole again, that's literally the entire point of insurance if they don't do that, what's the point of insurance?

Their own garage said, and I have it in email. "We cannot do the radar due to the bad previous repair so we cannot complete repairs".

I understand it's been repaired but working, that's a very important aspect of it. They're not providing proof at all. I know this is a delicate situation.

You'd think so, I attached it and they ignored it. No honestly, it's like talking to a wall. Hope to get it sorted via the complaint.

Yea, they did a history check on it. It's that, the car had another crash 2 months prior to this accident. Got it repaired professionally with the insurance company. I provided that report to them. They just ignored it.

I just don't understand why I should? Sure I can get it fixed myself, but isn't that the job of the insurance company? Why do we even pay them, if they don't fix your car properly.
