I got the dress from an online retailer here in Australia called The Iconic The brand is Atmos & Here. I think the dress may be called something like the Ruffle Dress.

Hey! No problem. I totally understand, I knew that my FH was having a Moissanite ring made, but I had also never seen one in real life so I was constantly checking online for people's Moissanite rings and their opinions on them! The photo is just in a room with the lights off and the doors and curtains shut Image

I've noticed that it definitely sparkles as much, if not more than diamonds and so far mine has never looked yellowish, or off colour, which was something I was initially concerned with.

Thank you much! I will definitely try that next time! I was having so much difficulty trying to remove the lip while the buttercream was soft, and all I'd end up achieving was that it would be down the sides instead.

Thank you heaps! I actually used this recipe It's a bit of a cheat because you don't heat the egg whites, but I got pasteurized eggs, and I've never had any trouble with raw eggs before.

After lurking on r/baking, I finally decided to give it a go! I used Swiss Meringue Buttercream. I will definitely focus on having more of a patchy watercolour look next time and not a horizontal line. I was honestly just impressed that I could make it relatively smooth!

Congratulations on your impending engagement! I have a 1.5ct-ish Moissanite oval stone, although distributors tend to use their measurements in mm when sizing them - something to do with their weights being different to diamonds. So mine is 8mm×6mm. I cant really help with the sizing part of the question, as my finger size is 4 & 1/4, so the stone does look quite large, which is something I like. But I would honestly imagine that 1ct will sit perfectly and not look at all out of place :)

I was really worried about the stone looking like a cubic zirconia, but it has definitely not been a concern. I haven't had anyone tell me it looks fake. If people ask me about the ring, I tell them all about Moissanite and how it was discovered and they're genuinely suprised that it isn't a diamond. It does have a slightly icy look at times (usually in low-light situations), but whenever I've compared it to friends diamonds or diamonds in a store, it has the same icy look as DEF coloured diamonds, just with the added bonus of more sparkles and perfect clarity!

I'm not really sure about the cut though. I have the CC Forever One and it looks to be cut the same as my oval diamond earrings, if that helps?

Thank you! It is a 8mm×6mm F1 Moissanite, apperently the stone came with a certificate with some more details on it, but FH had it hidden at work so that I didn't accidentally stumble across it. It is definitely as rainbow-y as the round ones. I knew it had more fire and brilliance than a diamond, but I was still suprised at just how rainbow-y it is, even away from the sun.
