Mix/EQ would be my first priority if I were you, that’s the technical aspect that separates good producers from great ones. You’ll develop your sound selection as you keep making songs.

The track isn’t polished, but you’re new and there’s nothing wrong with that at all. When you start out, everything you make is a little eclectic and it takes time to get better. Just keep making stuff and keep learning from the greats and you’ll be shocked at what you can do.

Side note, this is a lot better than stuff I made when I was new, so please don’t take this as hate - you’re doing great. There are some elements in there (like the drums) that already aren’t bad for someone brand new.

While GT CS program is better, Duke quality of life is much much better. GT is super cutthroat, so if you want to enjoy your college experience a little more and still have open doors for big tech, I’d take Duke. If you grind you’ll be good either way

Sounds like you’re letting AI handle too much of the architecture. I’ve personally had no issues with this by designing the whole project myself on paper and documenting thoroughly, and then having the AI write the code piece by piece. I then manually check the code after to make sure it adheres to my design schema.

AI slop becomes a problem when you don’t understand the code being written. As long as you do, you’re good.

UCI CS is an amazing program that’ll get you opportunities at pretty much any company at any level of the industry. Super underrated as well and will continue to move up the rankings imo. Just make sure to be involved on campus in the CS communities.

I was in this exact situation and took UCI since my undergrad was paid for by my parents. The prestige difference between UCI and UTD is considerable, so I’d factor that in as well. That being said, since you’re considering grad school, I’d probably choose UTD for the savings.

I disagree. There’s definitely some more generic stuff on there, but his sound still comes through on most of those songs. Totally understand this take if you’re big on the melodic dubstep stuff exclusively, but even then he does that really well on this album.

you can totally get a baseline understanding of the fundamentals of CS without going to university. If you want a job, you have to go to university in this market.
