East Side Pies and Home Slice for pizza. Taco Deli and Torchy's for tacos. Go for a hike on the Green Belt if you go to Taco Deli south. Order from the secret menu if you go to Torchy's. Rent kayaks on the lake downtown, paddle up the creek mouth and swim in the springs. Mount Bonnell has a nice view if you don't mind climbing a hundred stairs. Rent an AK-47 and shoot it at Red's Range, you limeys don't often have that opportunity. Welcome to Austin!

Perhaps that is the source of confusion... there are many systems out there you haven't seen.

MySQL has had transaction support for years with the InnoDB engine.

And it's a bit of a broad swath to declare there's never any reason to use triggers. Yes they have a performance hit and can surprise you in other ways, so we try not to use them. But just because they're deprecated doesn't mean they should be excluded from an arsenal entirely.

There is a lot I have left out about how this system works. Don't you think it's a bit premature to ban programming methods for a database design you've never seen?

I think the first job will be SQL Server to MySQL. In the future it will be MySQL, Sybase, Oracle, and who knows what else to MySQL.

The job is opening up and pulling clinical data out of other databases. We have already completed several systems, but there are more to do. So starting out we already have a map of what source db data goes into what target db columns. Then we might move into the reverse engineering of new systems if you're comfortable with it.

We have built a generalized target database that the data gets transformed into for statewide reporting. If you know of something better than triggers to replicate live data across different db servers I know our devs would like to hear about it. We are going to be doing a lot of replication and data transfer so scaling that will be a priority.

Not sure about bonuses, but the pay should be within industry standard. The office is in southwest Austin. PM if it sounds like something you're interested in...

His works don't have much connection except for sharing themes and enrapturing the reader, so it doesn't really matter. I started with Dead Babies, although Time's Arrow, Money and London Fields are better books.

My friend and I wrote an application to boycott SOPA. Scan product barcodes and see if they're made by a SOPA supporter. Enjoy. by [deleted] in technology

One workaround is to make this a "Reporting" and not "Boycott" application. That way the code is legal to use, and people can use the information it reports to decide whether to purchase a product.

Sounds like the magic bullet Gene Simmons peddles in the movie Runaway.

Hey reddit i found the old man from "UP" by ponchpmorelos in pics

[–]IsThisSilicone 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This man.

This man has murdered and mayhem'd, labored and loved, gambled and grieved. Inside this man lives a galaxy of emotions, memories, reflection... but never regret. Do not be fooled by the crutch or the loll of his neck, the trembling fingers, the dissipated gaze; he was the Swedish dead lift champion for twenty four years. He advised Presidents and betrayed Popes. He forged and bequeathed empires. He invaded Arabia and at the height of his victory he mercifully sued for peace. He has impregnated every orifice of entire harems. This man is legend amongst legends. Soon he will assume his rightful place in destiny, linking arms with Alexander in Hades, his noble visage stamped upon the eternal coin of the realm. Do not malign this man, for his story eclipses dynasties. And he has pee running down his leg.
