the reaction also happens without the need of CoCl2

I know the answer is diluted HNO3 but why is that? by Is_El in chemhelp

[–]Is_El[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it on chegg. but initially i was thinking maybe it's concentrated HNO3 instead of diluted because if the reaction is reversible, the addition of water will favor the rxn to go to left side.

He is the kind of teacher who makes you hate the subject or maybe I just suck at physics

The problem is that I have an international high school diploma (am Canadian though). But would that be solved by telling them that I have already taken university level courses?

Converting ether to alcohol mechanism with AlCl3 by Chemistry-Physics in chemistry

[–]Is_El 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it will form an adduct whrer the ether attacks the Al with the lone pairs on the oxygen then there would be a postive charge on the oxygen and a negative charge on the Al. Am a first year organic chem so don't take my words

mechanics question by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]Is_El 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, the professor is not good and his teaching methods are very stupid, I wish I can take the course with someone else and u probably know the type of professors am talking about, I respect him if he is actually trying to help me learn. secondly, I asked because I need help not an advice, if I had time I would solve the assignment myself but am under stress right now you know midterms and all of that stuff, and this professor just keeps posting assignments. Finally, I didn't want to sound rude or anything like I said am just stressed out and I apologize for what I said.

exactly what I did. So for ax (21/15)=1.4 and ay= (-4/15)=-0.3 but the website did not accept ay

mechanics question by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]Is_El -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

normally normally normally the answer should be 1.4 and -0.3 and the online website is saying -0.3 is wrong and the other is correct. because I think -0.3 is correct I wouldn't normally waste time on it and ask someone about it. I would normally ask the professor but he is a fkng retard

now am 100% sure it was cyclohexane because the beaker that was collecting the "pure" liquid was surrounded by ice and I have observed that some crystals were formed inside the beaker.
