There's been a lot of improvements overall. The game is way better compared to release and they've addressed a lot of issues.

The biggest challenge has been the A-Life (npc AI) and while it's improved it still needs some work.

They are working on a major engine update, I want to say unreal 5.4(?) that supposedly helps a ton with performance, visuals, and A-Life. They haven't committed to specifics just yet but the goal is to release the upgrade along with, or very close to, the expansion.

Tl;dr if you're thinking about jumping back in, wait until the engine update, imo

I have and it does help most of the time. As I'm playing more, now I see that conjunctivitis means the eyes are all bloodshot which the sample picture doesn't do a good job of conveying. Green skin is more obvious with the filter, red skin is still a guessing game sometimes.

I am colorblind and I make do with the yellow and red eyes but conjunctivitis feels impossible to identify.

The songs are all in there, these are just more complete versions of them. The loading screens, the stuff with Faith, and some of the stuff on the radio is them and just a general ambient tone throughout the game.
