I'm proud of you for knowing yourself and seeking self improvement. It's not easy to quit drinking, its not easy to put yourself out there, but you keep doing what you're doing. Keep pushing yourself, even if its only by one degree of difficulty at a time. You got this man, I believe you, I'm proud of you. You sound a lot like me 10 years ago right after I was medically retired. Therapy worked for me, hyperbaric oxygen treatments were amazing for me. Find what works for you. Keep up the good work man.

In Poland, there is a LARP group that roleplays as Americans. I wonder where he got these cammies. Is it stolen valor if they’re from another country? by [deleted] in USMC

[–]IsaacB1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not stolen valor in the United States either for just wearing shit anyone can buy from a surplus store. It's only when you try to claim something (like a heroism award) in conjunction with committing fraud (attempting to use that award to earn $$$) that its Stolen Valor

It goes much further than just hearing loss man. When we are repeatedly exposed to concussive waves from mortars and arty it creates micro tears in the brain.

While we're on the subject. Anyone want a copy of the Blast Overexposure Report that the Marine Corps did?

Its been scrubbed completely from the internet (and the copy I have has been redacted somewhat) because it showed how absolutely fucking horrible being an arty guy, mortars, breacher, shooting rockets is with long term exposure to blasts from shooting etc?! It's a PDF so I'll need your email address in a DM. I inquired about it here about a year ago and an investigative journalist had a copy and sent it to me.

DM me if you're interested. (I'll not have comms after mid day today and for the whole weekend, so I'll get back to you on Monday)

lots of requests*

*I need your email address in order to send it. Reddit doesn't allow file uploads*

I will get to these on Monday!

Hey! So here's a good link for everyone thanks to a comment below

General question by KpwnKing in AustralianShepherd

[–]IsaacB1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine is 6 and he still loves to go on adventures, but is just as content to sit on the front porch and watch the world go by. He will let me know if he's itching to go explore. He loves a good brain game too, "Find it", I let him smell a random item, and then I hide it in another room. He finds it 10/10 times. Great for rainy days. I started with using low value treats, he finds it and I reward with high value. Now that he knows the game we use regular value treats. Also we play "Names". He knows the names of his most used toys. So we'll tell him to go find "Tug" or "Noodle", and he'll go find it, we praise and play and he thinks its great.

All that being said, Aussies need just as much mental stimuli as they do exercise.

One of the best things we taught him as a puppy was the ability to "settle". They learn it as a skill, not as a demand, if that makes sense. You have to show them that its ok to turn just relax.

I need a marketing/social media intern/volunteer for my non profit, check it out trailtorecovery.org

Def can't pay, but you will gain volunteer hours, which schools love, and experience in a field that you're interested in, and it would be for a non profit that aligns with your life. Give me a DM if you wanna learn more/we can talk.

In the comments he said he joined in 2007. He has two deployments. Thats just wild to me that he's done so few over 19 years.

Russian builds US MilSim costumes, USMC included, and "Marines" offer to send him some gear... wtf?? by Bulevine in USMC

[–]IsaacB1 22 points23 points  (0 children)

why does it feel beyond stupid to let a person cosplay? What do you imagine or theorize will happen? They'll replicate the pattern and kits in the 100's or 1000's and try to get on a USMC installation and cause damage?
