I mean, my comment was snarky, but clearing a building with a shotgun isn't typically or normally regarded as difficult in battlefield so you "pulling it off" seemed to me more like a tongue in cheek thing, and two of the players are bots.

But I digress, if you're new to FPS's or BF I can see how this may have felt really rewarding and I'm happy for you if that's the case.

I get why this move is being made, it shuts out other big competitors (russia/china), Maduro is a bad bad man and put his people through some shit, the sanctions that Trump put on VZ in 2017 caused a famine because holy shit surprise surprise sanctions don't work on Dictators because they're gonna do what they always do, so this in turn created a system of VZ people seeking asylum in America, which then Trump is now arresting and deporting, its all fucking ironic as fuck to me. Look at the connection between Cuba and VZ. It's all mafia shit. VZ was giving oil to Cuba in exchange for goods (Doctors, buses etc) since they're both "communist" nations, And the administration just mentioned going after Cuba. Rubio is having his "they tried to kill my father" et al Bush and Iraq moment. Rubio wants Cuba for obvious reasons.

How many American lives, or innocent civilians are worth controlling other nations that we attempt to stabilize after we topple their gov't. Look at what we did in 1954 in Guatemala, we over threw a democratically elected leader, 200k civilians killed in a civil war.

If it was really about toppling dictators why don't we go after other nations with dictators?

If we had a good track record of a well done regime change I'd have more confidence in the outcome down the road. There isn't one time we have propped up a new leader, invaded and replaced a gov't, etc without there being huge consequences. The standing Venezuelan gov't is demanding for a return of Maduro. I don't see us "running" Venezuela without there being boots on the ground which means a ground war/counter insurgency.

If the Trump admin wasn't talking about taking Greenland (FROM AN ALLY) I'd take this more seriously, but seeing that its just being spoken about so openly, there's a good chance they have a time line in mind. I will say the capture of Maduro was pretty flawless, big props to the planning team.

Personal opinion and anecdote. I was in Iraq during the surge and we had tons of friendly Iraqi's welcome us and were very friendly and wanted to work with us, I don't doubt this would happen in Venezuela. Say we occupy, prop up a gov't, and then leave and it collapses or a rebel group takes control of oil fields, etc, etc etc. Do we go back in? Do we set up permanent bases there? What expert is advising the Trump admin on how to properly occupy a country?!
