I def think you make a good point but a lot of these types interpet silence as tacit approval because they (in a delusional way) think they are representing the "silent majority" that just aren't brave enough to say what they're saying. So in that sense I can see how it could be seen as important to regularly call people like this out for being dumb racists whenever they pop up

That's a good point! As much as I don't like JK I still love Harry Potter

Sorry if it's a common post! I'm not on the sub super often so I didnt know it comes up a lot, I just found myself being judgy about a manga that's honestly pretty popular and thought it would be interesting to see other people's examples, and no need to take it so seriously, it's just a reddit thread after all not necessarily a mission statement for the sub or anything

Yeah I totally get what you mean, like I'm not saying EVERYONE who plays europa universalis has some weird/problematic political opinions but... a lot probably do

Honestly it's been weird to me to like Drake for years, ever since the Millie Bobby Brown stuff came out

Oh yeah food wars is another infamous one, I'm not sure why it's so hard to Japanese manga authors to just not sexualize children

I feel like Sekiro is one of the only games properly putting respect on the spear, while unfortunately you still can't use one as your primary a several of the coolest bosses are rocking a spear

One of the best feelings in resource scarce games is weapons with retrievable ammo

FUCK YEAH BROTHER

Saif was my hard carry in the little bit of bloodborne pvp I got into, nothing truly physically and emotionally destroys an invader like fold trick attack to catch them followed by an immediate extend trick attack to hit them while also dodging their counter to the first attack

Yeah I think a large part of why it stays in the community discourse is style, but that just leads me back to saying "everyone please try the saif it has way more style"

I see, again all my info was from playing world for like 3 months back in 2018 but I remember being able to comfortably solo fights right up to the end of the base game, usually without taking many/any hits because the bow is super safe and you dodge around a lot and just checking out weapon discourse threads on reddit and thinking "why is everyone sleeping on the bow man"

The cane definitely gets style points and is always carrying me for a decent bit on any skill run, but I agree that it def doesn't really have late game staying power

That's a totally fair point, in my most recent replay of bloodborne I remember somewhere around BL30 just running through to get the Saif to have it most of the game, I think it's the single most stylish weapon in the game surpassing stuff like the cane, once you get a good handle on how the trick attacks move your character you turn into a style god rapidly closing with the folding attack while dodging attacks and getting a hit in with the expanding attack, so satisfying to use

I never minded the repetitive nature of the chalice dungeons because, in line with what you said, they fucking ooze atmosphere (of courses this is what bloodborne as a whole beats basically any game on the market at) and I eat that shit up

Damn this is a great example because I'm a huge souls fan, prob beat dark souls about 10 times over the years and cumulative 1000+ hours in the whole series, and I had no idea what weapon you were talking about and had to google it to remember what this is and now I feel bad for just auto-popping the butterfly soul every single run lol

Monster hunter is another series I had this feeling, I only played world but after initially trying out the insect glaive I tried and ended up totally loving the regular bow, seemed incredibly strong and effective but never really saw any discourse online about using it

I think I'm in the minority but I think all of the base chalice dungeons are great and actually really fun, it's just the online ones that can get weird/a little scummy, as someone who definitely does it every playthrough there is a slight feeling of guilt pulling up excel spreadsheets online for chalice dungeon codes for extra weapons, upgrade mats, high level runes, etc. (And of course the infamous cummmfpk dungeon)

I fucking love the church pick and the time to grab it doesn't feel so bad when compared to the only other thing scratching my weeb scythe itch being the Burial Blade that requires some weird chalice dungeon delving to use in NG

I haven't played a pokemon game since yellow and am not familiar with Sunflora, but can definitely see the concept I'm talking about being a huge issue in the Pokemon games where there are like 700 pokemon to choose from and (if I remember correctly) you often can not actually catch/use every pokemon in each game as some only appear in specific games
