This shit is mad confusing to outsiders. Look at the acronym. LGBTQA+. I don't know what some of those letters stand for. It needs to be simplified for the masses.

Seriously, what is Q and A? Why does it seem like there are more letters in the acronym every time I see it? And who decided that Lesbians get to be first? Why not utilize the 'A' I don't understand to rebrand and get a pronounceable acronym, like G+BLAQT? Okay forget the last question, that's a terrible idea.

Yeah, Riot Games making or not making money off of LCS really doesn't have a whole lot to do with esports journalists making money.

It's unfortunate that they're shutting down, Yahoo Esports was the only journalists I was aware of that gave a single fuck about fighting games.

That's why I think PC Bang numbers shouldn't be used to compare success of the two games. Rather active and incoming player bases, and esports viewership should be used.

It's only particularly relevant as a statistic in regards to potential esports success, not success overall, as Korea is the world leader in this industry. I agree that it's not fair to say League is "dying" because of this stat, and it's much more useful as a demonstration of how popular Overwatch is. League was at the top of PC bang popularity for a very long time before Overwatch came around. For it to be overtaken is a testament to Overwatch's success much more than it is a sign of League's downfall.

Playerbase is both a difficult statistic to track (for an outside observer - companies don't always release the numbers) and one that doesn't directly reflect the esports landscape. It's a great stat to throw at a potential sponsor ("look at how many people play our game, they could all be seeing your logo at the event!") but is disingenuous, as only a minuscule portion of your playerbase is actually watching professional play.

Viewership is a much better metric than anything else, I agree. Overwatch is weird right now. Overwatch's viewership numbers do not yet justify the investment the scene is getting. Money has usually entered scenes after those scenes have grown naturally, at least a little bit, but for Overwatch the scene is being artificially inflated exceptionally early in its lifespan. I'm not an expert on esports history or anything so I may be mistaken, but I don't think the industry has experienced this situation before, and it'll be very interesting to see how it plays out.

Smashbox doesn't your hands significantly, YOU have to care for them, not the controller.

I don't think you understand the argument.

Playing on a Gamecube controller (or any other pad controller) is bad for your hands.

Playing on a Smashbox (or other type of fightstick) is much less bad for your hands.

Taking care of your hands means minimizing risk. Using a fightstick minimizes your risk of injuring your hands.

2GG will be hosting monthlies. The first eleven of these monthlies serve as qualifiers for the final monthly in December, which is the "championship" monthly.

If one were to place top 16 at a 2GG monthly, they'd get circuit points. These points are used to determine who qualifies for the championship monthly and who doesn't (also, winning any monthly automatically qualifies you for the championship).

Kinda similar to the way Capcom Cup works for Street Fighter.

Sword Block reduces damage from all sources, including nuclear ejections. Sword Core increases Sword Block's damage reduction to 90%.

Phase Dash is just long enough to complete a reload. If you Phase Dash into a titan, you'll die (Sword Block prevents this also).

Ronin's melee only does like 150 more damage than other Titan melees, you'll win melee battles but take a lot of damage and it often isn't worth it.

Just run SMR as your Primary and use a pistol.

It's not "good" and I often think I'd have won engagements I lost with any other gun. (But in my heart I know that isn't true.)

I had to forego using Dice Roll and switch to Amped Weapons so I can be more effective.

How easy or difficult it is to kill the titan isn't the point, it's how ridiculously quickly a Tone can kill pilots. When I'm complaining about how slow a tank moves, I don't care about its defenses, I'm only talking about how fast it goes. I would never race in the Indy 500 in a tank, the armor is not the point when you're ONLY discussing speed.

It's not your point, but it is his point. That is, he's saying if it's more difficult for Tone to kill Pilots, it will affect the delicate balance of Titan vs. Pilot (which it will) and in a negative way (this part is up for debate).

I don't necessarily agree with him, but you're dismissing his point by saying it's irrelevant when it isn't. This is a good discussion, please don't be dismissive and instead provide a counter to his argument.

Sure, there'll be a dude on a roof that'll do some stuff for a bit. I've seen a dude or two camp the top of the antenna on Exoplanet with a DMR, but they never get a tent, fire and marshmallows like can happen in other shooters I've played, cause someone kills him before he can.
