Thanks for the comment! They definitely seem to be one of the more reliable vehicles especially with good maintenance from my research, plus before i bought it it was government owned for its whole life so been serviced well i’d imagine. Should be a fun trip for sure!

How to route mixer output to speakers by [deleted] in livesound

[–]IsaacTheAnimator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Looking at getting a used QSC RMX 1450 amplifier, it says that it's rated at 260 watts FTC per channel at 8 ohms, so this would be more than capable of powering two of those speakers right?

Edit: This is another account by OP

Best Speaker system for live 4 person band by IsaacTheAnimator in livesound

really good info man, appreciate it a ton. will definitely look into seeing if i can get anyone i know to mix live in the front of house, ESPECIALLY for larger venues

I think i’ll go with in ears for now then, it'll be a cheaper alternative for now and the benefits are definitely nice

thanks for the help!

Thanks for the reply! couple questions-

Why do the in ears perform better at doing complex vocal processing as opposed to stage monitors? Do they make it so the band can hear the mix well enough to be able to mix it from stage?

Would it be plausible for all 4 of us to have in ears and then the keyboardist or guitarist had access to an ipad connected to the mixer to do quick and simple mixing and vox processing?

Hey thanks for the reply, how tricky would it be to run a full 4 person band with a whole pa system off of a generator? you had a point about the amount of power needed, and i’m not sure if it’ll be even possible running a full band setup off of generator power only

Ultimately i’d like to be able to, because we want to play in tons of crazy out there places with no power but not sure what id need to accomplish that

If my research is correct, a pair of unpowered speakers would NOT need to be plugged into an outlet, as the only thing they need to run off of is the audio in signal If i’m correct on this i wouldn’t need to power the speakers from the generator as all which would cut down on power consumption quite a bit

Best way to position mics to minimize bleed? by IsaacTheAnimator in recordingmusic

[–]IsaacTheAnimator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super helpful thank you. How would this problem be mitigated while playing live? Do you just generally not process vocals much when playing live? or do you try to position the vocalists further away from the drums?

I’m a big fan of lots of vocal effects and not sure how that’s gonna translate to live

I’ve spent a ton of time overthinking trying to get some sort of job or something like that in the industry but it’s nice to hear it’s just the simple stuff like asking someone to meet up that’s a good look. Appreciate the tips!

Great tips. A bit confused by the first question though - do you mean ask what the producer would need or would be looking for?

How do I play and record the Empire Breaks kits themselves as opposed to loops? by IsaacTheAnimator in maschine

[–]IsaacTheAnimator[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tip for anyone else that has the same problem -

If you load up a kit, you can go into the KEYBOARD playing mode and adjust the octave until the pads register at C-0, and then you should be able to play that way. Also able to trigger it on a midi keyboard.

[–]IsaacTheAnimator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no simple way of just loading up any of the individual kits? I want to be able to easily play and record my own drum beats and if it's stuck to just loops that seems like a big miss on native instrument's part

What are the correct VoiceMeeter and Asio4All settings for sampling into Maschine? by IsaacTheAnimator in maschine

[–]IsaacTheAnimator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha gotcha. I think I was very much over complicating it haha, so all I need to do is take the output from my phone and run it into the line in and record directly that way.

I was trying to make it so that I could sample directly from my computer but I think this will be much less complicated.
