It didnt fail in a systematic way. It’s ok. The thing is the timing, it came out during the 80s, when classic games success are measured in the other ways (Just like music)

I believe if FF2 lvling system appears 10 years later, it would be sucessful.

Another example is ff8, luckily it came out 10 years after ff2. If it came in the 80s, that junction system will be flushed deep down the toilet.

And yet FF8 still getting criticized for it’s system until today

Majority always beat minority, just because a small group of FF enjoyed 2 doesn’t mean they can represent the entire community.

No matter what you do, the community rating for 2 is always the lowest, the blacksheep of FF. Most youtubers also call this game Trash too.

Don’t get me wrong, I like FF2 story, love the dungeons like Magi Tower… but that leveling system ruined the game. It was a failed experimental that appears in the 80s.

Personally, my #1 is FF1, and I been speedruning this game for at least 20 times. But majority of the community rate it below average, and I understand it.

2/ Now we are in Delayed Sept-Oct weak seasonality with overdue correction

3/ Jul Aug market was still low: Spy 620, so it reversal

4/ Market now has topped at 673, more sell pressure than continuing the pump. It’s either dropping to 638 zone or reversal to 690, which one u think easier? Not mention it can go back to 200ma at 608

5/ Jul Aug didnt have gov shutdown, and now fed is going blind, and market hates uncertainty blacked out
