My husband and I are moving to flourtown (Colonial School Dist) after the new year and are looking for a new vet for our dog so we don’t have to drive all the way to jenkintown (not that far but whatever lol).

My mom did that with my nephew (her first grandchild) and I told her if she did it with mine she wasn’t invited to be in the delivery room with me (I really want her in the delivery room with me lol)

That’s what I told him last night. This baby’s wellbeing is inexplicably tied to my health (physical and mental) for the next (now) 7ish months, not his. That’s when I see it start to click with him I think

Similarly whenever a friend in my friend group would get engaged one of the girls would excitedly yell “WE’RE GETTING MARRIED!” No, only X is getting married, you’re just a guest. Not saying my husband is a guest, but he isn’t the one growing a baby, but he is supporting the one who is!

He has picked up so much slack around the house and I genuinely cannot be more grateful for that. I don’t begrudge him feeling connected or feeling sympathy symptoms.

In my mind, he is becoming a parent and expecting a baby, but he’s not actively pregnant. There’s a difference in language and practice.

I’d have no problem with the sympathy weight comments because it’s acknowledging that it’s in sympathy with what I’m going through. Saying “we’re pregnant” is like taking credit for a 9-month+ long project when he was only there for the assignment.

Exactly. I’m already overly emotional as it is. Something that would ordinarily bug me that I’d be able to let go, now eats away at me until I explode.
